Does anyone have experience with King shocks in the past or currently using King shocks? I'm considering these as my lift kit is next on the menu, looks like $2122 + $190 tax where I'm at. I have a source that can get them for $1880 out the door, anyone interested in a set? Maybe I can set up a group buy if I can get enough interest.

I will update with more info tmr morning regarding shipping, payment, tax, stock and how long it will take to arrive.
Jose: I believe these are 12" will work with 2-4" lift. I'm hoping someone can chime in on their experience, share if you have positive or negative, both will help.

Jose: I believe these are 12" will give between 2-4" lift. I'm hoping someone can chime in on their experience, share if you have positive or negative, both will help.

Maybe I am reading this wrong but shocks will not contribute to lift height, they control ride quality. Unless they are coil-overs.

I think he meant that they will work with a 2-4" lift??

Sorry about that, and thanks for the correction, they will work with with 2-4" lift was what I meant.

so socal when is this happening??

any anticipated dates?? just wondering...make this happen!!!

I will have an update tomorrow, I have to find out what they have in stock and what shipping prices will be like. I also want to find out if we can buy shocks for other series land cruisers or any other makes/vehicles.
My top priority is to have them shipped out ASAP, some other group buys take awhile especially when things have to be built. With the shocks, I'm hoping they can ship it immediately after we gather enough interest and funds.
I don't think they will have a problem with other series vehicles, but will have to get pricing, if you guys have 100 series, FJ40s, or just want King shocks for any of your rigs, feel free to jump in.

After a few emails and phone conversation, they can't budge on the price, reason being there isn't much room for them to work with. But I managed to negotiate shipping cost, as it stands, $1880 will get it to your door. That is great news, estimated shipping is roughly $100, so look at it as an extra $100 discount.

The catch: There is a minimum on the order, we need at least 7 orders to get this discount and free shipping.

Hope you can get the group buy going, that's a great deal. $470 each/shipped for an adjustable 2.5 remote res shock is awesome.

I'm gonna have to pass since I'm more interested in waiting on the 3-link kit that's being developed by 4wheel Underground which would include Radflo coilovers for the front...

I think I may have the only set of Kings on a US Spec 80, and I am VERY happy with them. The ride is firm, but very controlled and no harshness. I am running them with TJM Progressive springs and 30mm MAF spacers. Be advised that the spec on the website is incorrect, the lengths listed are too long. These are 10" stroke shocks, not 12". If anyone wants a ride in my truck, they are more than welcome to seek me out and compare it to what they're running.

I applaud SoCal80 for getting a good deal secured, but I would advise against purchasing from anyone other than King and I'll explain why. I ran across a minor issue in that the piggy-back reservoir only fits oriented out toward the tire. On my 4.25" BS wheels with 35x12.5R17 tires, they rubbed under compression/articulation with the wheels turned. I talked to Kellan at King and he said, no problem, come in and lets take a look at it.

I went by yesterday and after evaluating my options I decided it would be easiest to just trim a bit of sheetmetal away from the inside of the fender opening for the shocks and rotating the reservoir to a position aft of the shock body (the spring is in front so that orientation is impossible). Now the reservoir is not sticking as far out as before, but because it is now offset from the steering axis, there is even less clearance once the wheel is turned. We have now determined that the shock setup for a US 80 will have to be remote reservoir. I will be going back to King next week for them to create a bracket and convert my shocks to a remote reservoir setup. All of this is costing me nothing and is an example of King's phenomenal customer service.

I'm not shocked that the 80 application is not completely sorted as nobody has really run them before. I knew going into this that there was every possibility I'd be somewhat of a guinea pig. This real-world data will only help bring forward a better product for all us 80 guys.

All this and King has offered them to us direct at virtually the same price, $1921/set, if we order 5 or more.

Soon to come will be a bracket for mounting the reservoir on top of the upper spring perch.
