For those who don't know KOH 2014 is this week. Labeled the toughest offroad race on the planet!

Thursday morning the "Every Mans Challenge" kicks off. Basically a stock mod class of offroaders.

Friday morning is the 4400 class cars, essentially high horsepower, big tired buggies that are capable of speeds over 100mph across the desert and then slam into the rocks for some speed crawling. It is an endurance race and sometimes a race of last man standing.

If you want to watch, go online to Ustream, then search Ultra4. Watch the streaming race online. Show starts at 7:30am pacific both Thurs and Fri, I bet racing starts a little after 8am.

Local Farmington driver, Loren Healy has won this race and is one of the "Kings". He qualified 9th this year, so, I bet he's good to make another shot at the 4400 class.

Durango local, Jason Kaminsky, is running in the EMC, Thursday.

Support the sport and enjoy the race!

Thanks for the Ustream tip. Now I know what I'm going to be doing at work today.

thanks! I nearly forgot. I have the site bookmarked. when I get to work, I'll try to post the direct link.

For the streaming to work it needs to be a fast connection. I can't get it wifi at work but the hardline computer works fine.

Races do start at 9am mountain time, take off in sets of two every 30 seconds.

Slow coverage...last year they had more remote and heli cameras. I bet they put more coverage into tomorrows main event.

I had tower truck training all day at work, so I'll have to check it out tomorrow.

Coverage is awesome today!

yep! watching it now!

Grahm, did you just lose feed also? it was going great and suddenly just stopped.

Tom Wayes crosses the line first. he will be assessed time penalties for accidentally missing a couple check points.

interesting note- I wheeled with Tom in Moab several years ago. he bent a rear spring in Mick's Hole on Hell's Revenge. I have it on video. he had a broken arm at the time in a cast from an extreme skiing accident while making an extreme skiing movie called "Booter Krunk". some of you may remember that vid. He's from Truckee, Ca near Lake Tahoe. he was with the Cascade Cruiser guys that I was wheeling with prior to the event, including 'Medusa' in that cool truggy FJ45.

and Loren Healy came in next. the unofficial winner from Farmington! with a hole in the radiator and a broken front u-joint.

I'd like to purchase a professionally made DVD of KOH14. I see lots of Youtube vids but who actually makes and sells high quality vids of this event?

Great Race with an outstanding drama filled ending! All hail the repeat King! Farmington represents. Don't forget he ran the last 30 miles with his engine in "limp mode" from the overheating from the radiator hole.

They make dvds for all the races. You can check ultra4racing.com. Go to the store. They sell tshirts, stickers and the dvds. Look for a preorder on that site, usually someone mentions it coming out on Pirate in the competition section. Heres the link http://www.kohthemovie.com/home.php?cat=1

2010 is when Loren won last time. Good race with people driving on top of each other in the rocks. I bet the dvd shows it. Crazier back then with the spectators literally in the trails while race is going on.

Bionic spoke about Wayes. Here's some vid frim this years race when he knew he was leading and didn't want to lose it getting stuck behind a broke trail plug. Enjoy!

Oh my!

I saw that live. nearly all the rigs winched up that first ledge and majority winched the second one too.

Today will be a KOH couch day for me.
