Well, Rick came by last night and we fix the 80.
It turns out the rear actuator was the problem, not a twisted axle shaft.

Took about 1 1/2 hrs to troubleshoot and rebuild the actuator.

All is good in the 80 world, which is great because the tissues were getting a bit low.

When do you want to fix mine?

Don't do it Jim! Lane will be throwing the lockers on and doing drifts with those meaty tires of yours!

the tricky part of these actuators is getting them timed properly. the front one is timed between the actuator and an internal rack with in the diff. The rear is timed internally in the actuator.

I've done a few now and still didn't get Jim's actuator timed correctly on the first try.

If there are a few people with problems we should all get together and sort things out.

Now when I listened to Jim's actuator it sounded like it was binding up. Why was that?

Sounds complicated, glad I bought the FJC. :hillbilly:

Just jokin'. Probably the same thing on the elocker for the FJC or other Toys. I don't hear mine lockup, but it is noticeable when it disengages. Thoughts on that?

Super!
