Kickdown cable not retracting (3 Viewers)

Is there any way to get the cable to retract to adjust it properly or does this mean that I need a new cable...Its adjustment is maxed out but the ferrule/cylinder on the wire should sit much closer to the orange stopper. I'm wondering if I replace the detent spring sub assembly in the throttle body (part 35409-60010) if that would fix it not retracting or if I need a full throttle body rebuild with a new cable? The cable did seem just fine a couple months ago when I adjusted it (probably way too loose because I followed FSM spec)

Looks like your cable is bad it should retract unless it has gotten unhooked 8n the transmission.

Maybe detach from throttle body and see if it moves freely
