Anyone heard about these? They seem rather new, but for 700 mounted and balanced locally, a hard deal to beat. Problem is, have to pay before I can look at them because they are a special order. No money back unless defective.

Seem like there isn't much void space in between the lugs. Help with sound, but will they clean well?

It's between these and the ST maxx, where I could buy 5-6 of these for the price of 4 maxx...

Kenda is a Taiwanese company with factories in Taiwan, China and Vietnam.

Although country of origin does not by itself dictate the quality of a particular tire, if it were me I'd look elsewhere.

Just my $0.02, YMMV, etc.

Kenda is one of the top Mtn bike tire manufacturers and have a great track record on that end. Don't know if that helps at all but thought I would chime in.

For a second, I thought your thread title said Kenda Kevlar MT. :)

I have used Kenda tires on my mountain bike and they were great. High quality and well built.

I use them on my commuter bike, seem to be holding up great. Big difference in bike and car though. Trying to find out side wall ply now.

Was given two answers from two sources, kenda says all e rated tread from them has a 3 ply sidewall, seller says its 2 ply but wasn't positive. Ordered a set, 653 to my door for four. Probably sipe the middle tread blocks soon.

They are a 3ply sidewall. Mounted one this afternoon. Balanced beautifully. Can't wait to get the other three on wheels and put them on the ground.

Got the rest balanced. Of the four, one took 2.25 oz, two took 3.5, and the forth took 7oz! They ride great, are quiet (haven't had em beyond 60mph though). I'll work on a more detailed review this weekend. So far worth every penny.

Can you tell us where they were made? Taiwan, China or VietNam?

They are made in China. I just got done running some of the more diverse terrain around the farm. I hit mud, water, dry rock, wet rock, gravel, and pavement. So far, I think these tires are the bomb for the price.

Looks like another good mud tire. I look forward to seeing how they perform. Somebody has to check them out, might as well be you if you are willing to take the chance.

I hunt by myself frequently so I'll go with something proven like the BFG KM2s or Toyo Mud Tire. If this new tire proves out, I'd be willing to use them regardless of where they come from.

Great looking tire, sounds like they're working out for you. The price is certainly right as long as the performance is to your liking.

What size are they and who did you source them through?

Thanks, Scott

I sourced them through eBay. They are a 285/75r16 tire and true to height, just at 32.8". I've been working on a longer review but school has interfered with its completion. I'll make sure to post it here when it gets finished.

Hey liljlandon, I'm curious about a little longer term review of the kenda mt. What's your opinion on them now that you've had them for a while?

Well I have a thing for the 255/85r16 tires so I ended up selling them and buying some km2s. I have wheeled with the guy that bought them and chat with him frequently. They are on a 90s diesel tahoe. I looked them over in November pretty good and they are wearing amazing. They haven't chunked, do well with little PSI, and grip great. I will shoot the guy an email and post his blurb.
