looking for a So Cal Dealer to help me service my KDSS system.

I had a small lean on one side of the truck and tried to balance the suspension system by opening the valves and adjusting the suspension. However I opened one valve too far and about 1/2 quart of fluid splashed on my garage.

So my KDSS is acting in 50% mode. When turning right... the system is perfect.. turning left I have more lean.

Also around bumps, the suspension is a bit more sluggish (more travel)

I have emailed about 4 dealers.. and none return my emails. Even emailed 2 Lexus dealers nearby and no response.

Since I bought my LC, I have not taken my truck for any repairs since I do my maint services through a local shop.

If you have a good service advisor that knows about the KDSS, I would like to have their email so I can get a quote.

I have search the Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition forums and posted my issue but none have responded.

I have live with the lean but the suspension lean is really bothering me, and the truck does not feel as safe on the freeway.

The dealer will need SST 00002-12030-01 + adapers etc to perform the fill/bleed.... if you can't find a dealer that invested in that tool, they (air over hydraulic foot pumps) are available in the aftermarket for significantly less.

well.. after much research and found time to take in my LC to get this KDSS flush and fill done.

My extended warranty is almost up and I had them replace the drive shaft for the bump feel when starting and stoping and also they replaced a fuaulty fuel sender module. Also the front shock was showing sign of leaking and spring was collapse.

In all.. my lean and poor ride quality was due to the shock, spring and my stupidity of opening one circuit of the KDSS too much.

All this work cost me nothing except for the KDSS service flush and fill. $540 bucks.

Those in So Cal and having issues with the lean.. take your truck to Clairemont toyota.. ask for Mike Sanders and let them know you want you KDSS serviced. He will try to see if there is a leak or shocks are bad.. but the service will be at your cost if there is no sign of leaks.

The truck is even.. rides like new and handles much, much better.

Best $540 bucks I spent...

Thanks for the update on this. Good to know a dealership well versed in the 200s. So I assume they have a few LCs that some in and the SST 00002-12030-01 + adapter tool spoken of above?

Did they give any indication of why the driveshaft was making the clunk noise? Mine does the same thing and my local dealer stated "they all do that." I wouldn't expect that noise from a $70K vehicle.

they had a white LC 200 from Texas when I was there.. not sure the reason (service or repair)

I asked them about the pump and he said they have it but had to order the hydraulic fluid

i described it more as a thump or like a jerk that come and goes between 1st to 2nd gear on take off or as you slow down.

he tried to tell me that its a 2 piece shaft.. its not uncommon.. but they must of felt it was a bit too harsh, since they got approval from Toyota extra care to replace it.

its not completely gone.. but its 95% better than before. Full time 4WD will have some additional mechanical engaging than 2WD.. thefeore its acceptable.

Bump! does anyone have any socal dealership reccomendations?! can't talk to SA about my issues because they have no idea WTF i'm talking about.... KDSS was such a key selling point, but no one understands the repair aspect. LAME

I would suspect Longo would be able to take care of it. They have so many techs at least one will be able to deal with it.

What aftermarket air over hydraulic pump will serve this purpose, if you would be so kind as to suggest a source? Any special adapters needed? The fluid is still the Toyota AHC fluid I understand.

You guys should watch this YouTube. Someone post a video how to service KDSS on Lexus GX460. He bought hydraulic pump at Amazon for $100 similar Toyota SST.

The vid guy says his Amazon pump only goes to 6 bar and he pumped his system to 3 bar for his GX. 3 bar is only 45 psi. I thought our LC KDSS pressure was in the 600 to 800 psi range???

In the comments he corrects what he said about the pressure in the video.

If one dealer near you doesn't work out check others. My local dealer tried to charge me 6 hours ($1050 inc $120 fluid). Its a 3 hour job.

Too bad this video has been removed. It was literally the only video on the topic!

There is one guy that does it on a 470, but doesn't really show anything he did, just documents it after the fact.
