My driveway is not level... Tilts slightly downward left to right. Have you, or others, found you have to alternate your parking direction to avoid developing a tilt? I ask because when camping...you might end up parked in at awkward angles on weird terrain. Always wondered how this works out. Not really dying to TRY and cause it to see... Anyone discover an answer to this Q?
I came up with this theory also, after a couple beers around the campfire, I played around with it a bit, my non scientific research shows it affects the vehicle very little if parked uneven, just my experience...

yes - your rig if left on uneven surface (over night / whatever) will compensate and once back on level you will be leaning . It will eventually correct itself once back on level ground for a given time. I'll be in my garage sometimes and I hear my pumps kick in - I know that's what it is because it crawled under my truck to identify the source of noise - had to make sure it wasn't the compressor on my beer fridge going out.

The compressor was pertaining to my garage beer fridge. What I sometimes hear on my truck is a pump noise that sounds like an motor or something cycling and it runs for 30 seconds or so then stops. If you ever hear "the noise" crawl under your truck (if you want to), and its located in the spare tire location / area. That's my experience and where I have identified the noise to originate from. Then again what ever that device is may not even have anything to do with the KDSS - I'm not positive where all the components to operate that systems are spread to other than the obvious parts
My bad on not being more clear
If it is than that is funny because I grabbed my tape measure last time I heard it and went to all four corners checking to see it that noise was my leveling in action - ha ha beer and an awesome imagination
thank you
The issue here really isn't that the KDSS valves will eventually corrode and seize when neglected, as there are plenty of other components on the cruiser which will malfunction if neglected too.
The "problem" is that these valves were not earmarked as maintenance/service items in the FSM, where clearly they should have been... just like grease points on any 4wd.
If lubricating the valve threads was included in the scheduled maintenance table, nobody would be bitching about this problem.
Decided to just go ahead with the lift and deal with it IF there is an issue with it being level after install. Seems like it's doable (Slee and Kurt seem to have done installs with frozen valves).
I did spend an hour or two a few weeks back under the truck with many doses of penetrant (over several days), impact driver, heat/torch (heated the bolt itself) with zero luck. All I accomplished was stripping the head further after hammering in a larger torx bit. I'm fairly certain that there was no way for me to get it loose without destroying the bolt completely. I even used a breaker bar and the thing didn't budge at all.
Truck is having lift installed as I write this. Once the suspension/UCAs/ARB/winch is all installed and I pick it up I'll be sure to update with any leveling weirdness.

I was talking to one of my 100 buddy's who once got his transmission replaced for $500 labor by complaining to the right people at Toyota.
He suggested I complain to Toyota as to why a $75,000 vehicle is made with inferior materials and ask that they make it right. It's certainly well documented here on mud and not an isolated incident.
I tried this route with Toyota and opened a case file and everything. Their response was that since it was out of warranty it wasn't covered. But then they did offer to make me a great deal on a new $80,000 vehicle if I was interested buying another!
@dscully , can you upload a photo of how bad yours looked?
I started a new thread about how I got mine unstuck yesterday and I'm curious as to the starting conditions of both.
Figured if share my kdss luck in hopes to help other people that might have cruisers with stuck valves. The shop that installed my Ironman fcp struts and springs and SPC uca's got my valves unstuck for me. They had the proper tools and torque to break the rust up. I'm not sure exactly what they did, but am happy to ask if anyone wants to know. I had zero luck with kroil, pb blaster. Mayne I helped a bit by spraying those products on the bolts before taking it to the shop but who knows. So, if your kdss is frozen shut, maybe a good mechanic can help you out. I am going to put some grease on them habitually to prevent future rust issues.
I'm having the same stuck valve issue. I got one of them loose but the inboard one closer to the exhaust is stuck and rounded off. If I can get the lift installed is there a way to level the truck with just one valve open?
No real updates here, KDSS valve still stuck, but lift has been on for a couple hundred miles now. Seems to be level still, but havent measured to be sure.
Got some wandering and a "loose" feeling on the highway on the most recent trip from MA to DC. Was loaded up with a several hundred pounds of stuff in the back though, so might have something to do with it.
Thinking the truck needs a real alignment now that the suspension has settled some...hoping it's not an issue with the KDSS system being out of whack due to the lift. Around town and at lower speeds it's been fine. Still adjusting to the firmer ride with the E load range tires and new suspension, but liking it overall.
