What gives? I installed a new pump today and there is some moaning. But on the other hand it feels great. Glad to have PS again. But what can it be? Belt too tight? Fluid low? I have checked all the fittings and they are tight and snug and there is no leaking at all. It hasn't had PS for about 9 months. Could there be air in the system?

Did you bleed the system. Simply jack the front end of the truck up, turn on the truck, and turn the wheel from left to right over and over with the resevior return hose disconected until fluid starts coming out.

Check to see if there are small bubbles in your resevior. If there is, then it has air in the system.

I hope that helps.

and remember it is AT fluid not power steering fluid (that you prolly already know).

Cheers,
jason

I second bleeding the system.

You may need to add more fluid after bleeding.

Well after writing this i went to check the fluid level and the level was very low...barely registered on the piece of metal. So i added more fluid and this morning there wasn't any moaning. I think i may still bleed the system just to be safe.
