So i hop in the 40 this morning depress the clutch and notice the resistance is low and it seemed to catch on the lower part of the depression.

I say fxxx it and drive on, but still aware that it is getting worse. So it gets so bad that i have to pump the clutch in order to create pressure enough to change gears...and then also shift using rpm without the using the clutch.

it could only be the clutch slave....right?

Most likely. What was the clutch fluid level?

Is there any sign of it coming out the slave or master?

Master failing could cause the same issue.
crap, i didnt even think of that. It's sloppy out there so i didnt even check the fluid, i just chawked it up to the slave failing b/c that is what happen the last time it failed.

I dont have time to even change it out myself, that is the sad part.

You can change it faster than you can take it to a mechanic. One hose, two bolts, and bleed. Start changing your clutch fluid once every year and it should last forever. Condensation is building up in the fluid and causing oxidation in the cylinders.

yes, i understand this, however it is now sitting at a gas station and will not be moving until it is changed out. I just dropped the slave over there..........

it's just a hassle right now.

It is a very good idea to replace the master and slave as a set. Once one goes it is not unusual for the other to fail shortly thereafter.
well the one i gave them is seized...must had gotten wet somewhere along the way.

They are buying one from NAPA and i told them to check on the Master Cylinder as well...

oem only***********

well, it is a done. both slave and master are passing air....

i guess it's a good time to replace my brake master as well....fxxx

Go grab a couple quarts of brake fluid and a 10 mm wrench and bleed it yourself. You might have to add fluid ever so often but what the heck. Most likely you ran out of fluid and got air in the line. By add in the fluid and bleeding you should be able to get it home.

It's real easy to bleed the clutch. Just fill it at the top. Crack open the bleeder slightly and slowly pump the pedal as the fluid goes down fill. I'd say once you filled it twice shut off the bleeder screw and run it. I find it hard to believe it would fail where you couldn't even get it home.

i just dont have to fxxx with it right now. too much s*** going on. If i hadnt went head first into a guard rail with my 100 then i would prolly do it myself. My 40 is my back up truck and i need it done quickly....
