For the record, I'm not saying he is dumb or anything like that. I just wanted to point out that his comment that implied his injury was caused by the air bag kinda set me off. He should be thanking Toyota for designing a system that worked as well has his SRS worked. He should be grateful that he and his friend are alive.

My thoughts on destroying/rolling the vehicle were along the lines of the guy in the other thread (FJason80's roll) that discussed how we would have accepted it well had he rolled the truck on an obstacle or something. Many of us participate in this 4-wheeling hobby that has risks of both personal injury and property damage. There have been several that have wrecked their 80 and several that have rolled their 80. How we have done it, in some respects, is irrelevant. So, in summary, I'm not coming down on this guy for a dumb stunt. Many of us have done things just as dumb so we should all have some empathy for the guy in that respect.

I Didn't mean to have any dissrespect for the air bags at all. I respect them very much. They deployed and did there job. So did the seat-belts and the sand that we landed in. There was also a third passenger in the back seat and he had NO injuries. If we had hit a tree or a boulder or had not been wearing seat-belts someone would have DIED. I did F&%$ UP and thats my fault and I am not in any means trying to pacify the safety features that saved our lives. More or less my point was to show how safe the FZJ80 is "in the event of a rollover". I guess I should've stated that in the beginning. Sorry for not making myself clear.
The FZJ80 has been totaled by my insurance co. and I bought a 97 FZJ80 to replace my steel baby. I stripped it of all the goodies before they towed it. Sorry no yard sales.
Thank you for the all the response. I promise I WON'T roll my 97.

Might want to get that engraved on a little plaque and glue it to the dash.

reason no matter the cause, witnessed a 4runner roll this am on the
hwy avoiding debris dropped from a truck... so is he up for the award
as well??? or should he have plowed a chunk of engine block at 60

take care of yourself ( and your new 80)

...why couldn't you clowns have purchased Grand Cherokees instead of an 80 series. You would've saved us all from heartache! You guys are KILLING me.

You know, there are many 80-less people out there, who would love and appreciate . . . ah never mind.

Let's NOT see any more threads like these.

If I was a clown, I wouldnt want to be caught dead in a Grand Cherokee - literally. :D

what kind of interior does it have?

sucks though but this means you get to find another one... always fund :bounce2::bounce:

You know those stunts they do on the "Dukes of Hazard"....?

those aren't real........:hillbilly::hillbilly::hillbilly::hillbilly:.............!

Yeah, it's nice talking, but what happened? Were you trying to avoid something? Were you writing an SMS while driving? Were you drifting for fun after watching fast&furious? What were the circumstances?

it was a Jeff Corwin edition and the passenger accidently hit
the "power" button, the thing literally leapt 15 foot into the air....
