four months of trying to trace down code 52 Knock Sensor #1 on my 94 OBD1 1FZ-FE and I'm giving up.

I've read several other posts about running the ECU with a jump wire using just KS #2 and sending that signal to the KS #1 pinout at the ECU plug. Knock sensor 1 and 2 are directly over/under each other, so it's just a very short jump wire needed, but how?

Do I de-pin #1 and have the jump wire then go into both ks 1 and 2 wires/pins on the plug?

If anyone has done this, please let me know if I'm on the right track or if there is a better way.

Thanks!

Just as easy once you're at the ECM plugs, to run a "New Shielded Wire" from the bum sensor to the ECM. No need the break open the factory harness just route it along side secured with some ZIP ties.

I have considered that and I would prefer that over the jump wire but sourcing a small gauge insulated wire has eluded me. I even have a new plug at the sensor to attach to that wire (and knock sensor 1) ready to go.

I’ll have to think of better search words to find the shielded wire. Best I found was a CB radio antenna wire.

Tried to reply earlier this morning but don’t see it.

I found some single conductor shielded wire on internet, and hope to have it delivered later this week. I already have a new single wire plug at the sensor side so I’ll see if I can de-pin KS1 at the ECU.

I’ve done so many other things to clear this code, I hope this works, but I’ve become somewhat cynical.
