Jump seats: 78- vs 79+

What are the differences (in the covers) between the FJ40 (short) jump seats up to 78 vs 79 and later?

The 79s are gray instead of black and have the bar that supports the seat bottom against the floor unlike the early jump seats so they don't bend or fail at the hinges.

AAtlas sez that the backs are different and the covers are not interchangable. "79 and up backs are wider and different vinyl."

The fold down leg started in 78 maybe as early as 77. I have set of 78 seats with the fold down leg and they are dark grey. I also have a set of 79 jump seats that are lighter grey and the cover is a different material.

I thought it was a mid year change about the leg but people have posted in a tread in the past that their 77 had them that's the reason I said 77. Not sure when Toyota added the legs but before 79. I bought the 78 jump seats out of one in a junk year in the mid eighties. The 79 jump seats came with a vehicle I bought around 99.
