Durabak is a lot better product than the Herculiner. Just sayin...

I hate, hate, hate when people paint their whole trucks with bedliner. It is hideous.

by "whole truck" you mean WHOLE truck or inside the tub....

I am REALLY considering putting a coat of primer over the RB, then 2 coats of my green, bolting the seats and tank back in and driving it as I finish the outside metal work and painting.

I know you don't like the color, but I do and think that the truck inside and out (ie factory look) should look the same.

worst case scenario....I scuff up the green paint and put something on top of it.

Inside only for durabak. I really don't like it on the outer body.

It just looks a little bright versus the factory green is all. I am sure it will be great.

Keep the texture inside the truck IMO.

Im thinking Monday..when im off again...im doing what I said above...

it is a little brighter but I think some of it is the sheen of the diamond plate and the fact that pic is right after I sprayed it.....but it was a good compromise color for od versus what is on it.

I HATE covering a normal paint job with that stuff.....problem I have with durabak (rough) or herculiner is they hold dirt in....I know I know...it's a 40, but why create more dust when the dashboard and seatbelts collect enough to fill the titanic? there is the durabak smooth, but then why not just use my rattle can method and save about $400!!!!

Why line it if you're just going to put a bed mat over it anyway? I'd spend that cash somewhere else.

He already lined it....I think that is to kill/cover up the rust. Also, it will keep the rust from happening under the mat.

I thought he had painted the ZeroRust and was still considering the liner??

that's a great point...I just wanted the best protection for the bed...well.....that's done....durabak or herculiner seem redundant now after Rust Bullet

yes.....the reason for 90% of my rust on the bed was a rubber mat put over rusting, wet metal that created a feeding frenzy. I now have a new mat, courtesy of the wyfe, that can go over the RB and will keep it looking good....while it doesn't rust underneath.

I was kinda bc Jrob did RB and then herculiner......but I only sipped that kool aid.....now really thinking ill just paint a top coat and roll on to installing seats, gas tank, and driving the truck after a month in pieces.

You ok, never seen you so quiet here?

Ha, hey Jon, yeah SUPER SUPER busy at work..plus we got .008 inch of snow last night so the whole state is shut down.

FINALLY a saturday off

got the tub/RB sanded cleaned and painted.

This is Rustoleuom Spruce Green. I like it.

I got it on, put the rear sill cover back on, sprayed the pedals black again, sprayed the shifters and cleaned the boots with tire foam, cleaned the factory front mat, put in the wifes christmas present (rear mat) got the tank and drivers seat in and then called it a day to go to a party in an hour. Will do the center console, passenger seat, roll cage tomorrow.

more

hard to see the color in those first pics...these are in the garage...it looks almost white or mint but it's slightly darker. you can see the contrast with the original color on the dash and in the next pic on the doors.

Any ideas on a good way to clean rust and corrosion form the fuel filler neck before re installing?
