Did you buy those tires new? I searched Generals site but could not find them. I am looking for that type of tire for my 40.

Thanks,
Daryl

No , they were on the splits when I got them. I searched on General's site as well with no results. I believe the truck came from Costa Rica, so they may be a south/central american type of issue only. I'm going to check with my local tire guy I deal with to see what he comes up with as far as availability.

That is the handiwork of Sir Georg of Valley Hybrids.
I decided it may be better to score a corrosion free transfer case from southern cali than send mine. I originally soaked the bolts on mine but was afraid they would snap off coming out of the aluminum when I tried to crack them loose.
Georg hooked me up immensely and built another H55 jewel.
My linkage was pretty rotted too.

Damn, Georg sure does pretty awesome work.

Do you have your old H55 for sale?

Well my transmission is still in pretty good shape, I would have went for the H41 if you had it, but i'll stick with mine for now.
Keep up the good work on your build, if I have any questions when I do my frame swap i'll be sure to let you know.

Joe, thanks for this thread. I used your most recent pictures as a reference for running my brake and fuel lines. Epic build, keep it up!

My father in law's neighbor, who is a body man and has a home shop to do side work, stopped by a couple weeks ago and wants to paint the body. I'm waiting on a backordered safari snorkel from Kurt so i can bring it over to him with the snorkel holes in the fender.
Beno also scored me some of the last OEM oversized 2F pistons last week in the galaxy. They are now in Jim C's hands so he can now bore the block.

Yeah, as soon as I get a day off I have to go talk to my tire guy about some sneakers to mount on the spliits. I dig those bias knobbies on the chassis now but I'll never be able to find them in the states.

Parts are at the machine shop now. Block is getting bored for the 1.5 O/S pistons, giving a 4.4L 2F w/ 9:1CR.
Crank was good, just needed polished.
Head is getting the usual stainless valves, new springs, mill.

Porn pics to come...
