I hate you so much right now.... :) I am saving up for a fj60 but also putting wife through college so maybe when i'm 50 I'll get me one.
No one says it has to be an expensive one

this one cost 500$ and then decided it wanted to take me all over the nation

So a little back story for you guys

If you have never ever herd of the gambler 500, go check it out. A great event for everyone and they are car nuts so we get along well.

But main goal is a 500 mile offroad navigational challenge in a 500$ car. Which really gets you thinking when your done, how far can my 500$ car go?

that’s where the tan landcruiser came into play and then Sending it all over the USA just because the thrill of the trip and see where and how far 500$ Really will get you.

that being said I’m now comfortable with taking that 500$ s***box of a cruiser anywhere in the world. So a trip to Vegas/death Valley/Zion for Christmas from Kansas City has kinda lost the challenge.

The landcruisers Have just been living up to their name to well, and the “challenge” has lost its flair.

Welcome the To the Tercel aka the turd 💩
You may not know it, but you really did reinvigorate my desire for a beater car to flog with impunity. I've had feelers out for a while, mission accomplished. Now I think the $500 Turdcel and the $500 "Poop DeVille" need to plan something... I may follow suit and herculine the floors if the 🐀 💩 smell won't come out with a good interior power washing.

I love it and yes we need to do a mini road trip/overlanding adventure of the Midwest soon!

I vote north

Made Danny and The Pretty One get out and stretch that new hell for stout lift kit a little bit.

got to say it does look good while doing it. Wouldn't pick that lift again, spring are a little short and shocks are rancheros. But they do work and comes in cheaper than arb.

It’s all fun and games till I wanted to go play in the deep water...... again

ended up soaking my distributer when I popped down in a hole, luckily my starter still works and I could get it out of the water and chill for an hour or so.

fired right up, went right back in the water and told that crossing who was boss.

then the water caught back up to the distributer and I got to sit and chill for another hour.

Lessons we learned here, water proof your distributer before we go play again, as soon as I got home it got coated in lithium grease, has not been an issue since

Hey @rhah how about some pics and more descriptions of what you did to your distributor.

Unfortunately it’s been replaced since then.

but it’s just as you think it is.

Go get a 2lbs tub of grease, start scooping and slathering and packing

cover it top to bottom fill in all the gaps, the more the merrier

Since I had a free afternoon, why not follow the rzr fags to Tuttle Creek and get a nice short weekend adventure in.

The trails are pretty tight here. Mostly made by the rzr riders, which makes it hard for our full sized rigs in these trails

Kansas sometime you nail it on the pretty views just got to make it hard to get up the bluffs overlooking the lake

Yup

sounds like a great camping spot for the night. Sit back make a fire and watch the sun set.

hit some trails around midnight and have some fun night wheeling and take off in the morning for home.

The Poop Deville has plates... and other choice adornments. It has successfully done 500 miles of commuting. Good to go. Maybe a $125 roof top tent? View attachment 2640632
Step one is the homemade roof rack! Which I may or may not have more than one sitting in the garage waiting to be mounted to the next project

cough cough

I had never been up Pikes Peak before and well since I was in the little fuel saver figured why not I got half a day to kill. So up we went. COBALT POWER!!!! Winds forced a turn around since the rangers decided to shut the road down

Grandby mountain

we’re no professionals, no need for aspen vail or any of those high dollar sky trip spots.
Keep it cheap and fun for us. Just getting out on the slopes was good enough for us amateurs

Flat springs, covered there as well. Who says you need a lift kid and arched springs to have fun

hanging out watching the rzr guys do their thing. Hill climb challenges were about to start

While I was out wandering around, this guy snapped a couple pics of my rig. Later I found out he was hoping to get a couple cool pics of me falling off into a sink hole. Guess I was farting around a couple pretty good car sized ones and got lucky I didn’t find them.

Skinny pedal bump, get the front wheels up and let the cruiser eat! Climb these things will

👆👇 somewhere between Panty Hill and Tittie mountain I decided to blow a hub and not know it cause well I just want to party.
00584673-5D8C-4004-A984-DFBE4F59240C.jpeg

Got back in the rig the next morning to go retrace our steps from the night before. Something just was not going right and I couldn’t get up the hill that I was bombing up and down all night

get out to look and well that’s why we’re only 2wd now 🤦‍♂️

1B9C5041-BDA9-4EA4-A6E6-48588A467965.jpeg

So in the process of turning around on Panty Hill my pitman arm decided it was done working as well as the hub

FML I’m 4.5 hours from home and I don’t trailer my rig

YOUR ONLY STRANDED IF YOU WANT TO BE

pulled the spring from my blown up hub.... wrapped it up all nice like, drove home on all those nice twisty and windy backroads

Ohh what a magical place Disney can be and the memories it will leave ya with

Made it home, don’t you worry.

buuuut being as I got two broken rigs right now and it’s snowing in Kansas.

Just means it’s time to get The Pretty One out and head to the back 40 for a little play time

The green and white was pretty cool, not enough snow to amount to much and was gone in a couple hours. But who doesn’t like a nice spring snow

Well found me a great deal on some mini truck hubs so we’re good to go again

The trails always get better when you have wheeling buddies, bydge and Charlie have turned out to be great ones and have pushed me and my rigs further than I wanted to go and always come out on top.

Goals right here, it’s been a struggle to keep up and or keep them back enough so I can keep up. So time for building the gambler up so I can keep up easier and or we can get much nastier on the trails

2021 is the year of the Gambler.

Well the warns for the mini trucks are no where near the stock gold hubs. But the price is right and they come in pairs with a lifetime warranty

Snapped a couple bolts off in the hub, but that’s ok there are 6 there for a reason, it means you can loose some and still be good to go
