Don’t worry John Those fender flairs and bull guard were atrocious, but needed for the event.

Stripped down the cruiser from the carnival look it had for The Kansas Gambler500

Ended up getting rear ended, luckily it was a 1987 d20 and sat up high enough it didn’t do much but break the lock for the rear hatch

but luckily I had a belt laying around in the back of the rig for just in case needs, well this became the just in case need

Met some really cool folks at SAS1, the best part is they are 3 hours from home.

Bydge and his boy Charlie had been talking about this offroad park in souther Missouri and said I’d love it.

so it was time to hit up S.M.O.R.R. And ohhh boy were they right

finally a rig I can wheel in and not care what I do to it and finally some full size rigs that like to play as much as I do

welcome two of the most capable Toyota’s I have come across

SMORR!

I have been there many many times since this trip, and always have a great time.

But this was the first trip out to SMORR, and the first time “wheeling” with bydge and Charlie.

I had no idea what I was getting into, or the fact that I was going to be hooked, it’s hard to find people with the same level of wheeling or willing to put their rigs in those places.

They are my kind of always longing to get to the next park of find that next trail and not afraid of a little knick scrape and ding

120k and 6 years after getting this rig this is still one of my favorite pics of

wheeling at S.M.O.R.R. For the first time and absolutely loving it

really opened my eyes on what a stock cruiser can do

When you play hard you break motor mounts

when you break motor mounts you take your fan out with the water pump

lesson learned here, your still mobile and you still got a 5 hour drive home in this rig

yes the fan was missing 1/3 of its motor basically and yes it tried to keep working, was pretty wild but decided it was better to not run the fan and I cut the ties and let if fall to the bottom of the rad for the trip home

Jake, when you get your new motor mount, modify it.

A) cut off both studs
B) drill a thru hole where the stud use to be
C) put on a grade 8 bolt and nut /washer

This new motor mount is very unlikely to ever break again.

🤯

I always cut the lower 1/3 of the bottom stud off so you don’t have to do a whole disassemble and just jack the motor up and slide it in.

but john that is a huuuge upgrade and I wouldn’t have to worry about it ever again.

where were you before I junked three different hoods 😂😂

Made it back to town alright, you don’t need a fan on a 2f if your over 30mph and it’s not hot hot out. Temps stayed nice and cool ~ 195 ish for the whole ride home

once I got home someone brought up the three antennas thing.

So I promptly added another and it was time to fly old glory all over

It really is a sickness, also I had never been to Kansas Rocks Off Road Park.

so loaded up with a buddy and decided to make the 1.5 hour drive and head on down and see what it was all about.

Was a great day for wheeling, nice and chilly and a completely empty park all to ourselves.

why not give some hard trails a try

Toms tumble ended up being way more than I expected

luckily all that happened were some new body lines and more fresh air for the nice November drive home.

Ended up slipping off some rocks and fell into a rut which put me into a tree, and since I’m solo, no winch, and not one for working for hours to get myself out here comes the skinny pedal.

Managed to not get stuck and still driving home qafter going down a trail well above my rigs ability

SUCCESSFUL day it was.

now for the cold ride home 🥶🥶

Made it back home and glad the heater works like a champ. IT WAS A COLD 1.5 HOUR RIDE HOME!

and well since this is The Gambler, and we loosely follow the 500$ rule. That means no new door.

so I break out the 2x4 and a healthy hammer and start wacking. For not being a body guy and using a 2x4 I’d have to say it’s as good as new.... ish hahaha

I was able to find some cheap glass in Tennessee and had it shipped over. I lucked out pretty good and The glass made it all the way unbroken.

the 60$ gamble On shipping the glass paid off this time

You should find a junkyard window though.

It snowed

So that means we must go play, so I dragged Danny and The Pretty One out and threw them around the rock quarry for a bit.

Still waiting on that glass to show up but we all know a good heater and a pretty pink towels make for excellent non transparent windows. Just got to lift to see out and loose your heat

Danny and The Pretty One almost got out of there without getting the tires all muddy but overall a good Sunday funday afternoon delight.

love this place, always a good Time wheeling no matter what the outcome is.

first things first, let’s go play on the moon in the rock garden and stretch those legs a bit

we had some time to kill before the rest of the crew showed up, heres Danny and The Pretty One playing

Kinda like a puppy dog and it’s first adventure with a pond, he was scared and nervous The

Forced it upon him, once he got in and saw that the world wouldn’t end and he wouldn’t melt, he then began to get a little excited and started to play some while we wait
