I really like this, your kind of going for the world rally racing heavy weight championship.

I guess you could win a lot of friends around here drifting and screaming around dirt roads at 100mph, err.... or maybe not.

I've been trying to think of a way to fit fog lamps closer to the ground.

I give up.

Well I have thought of cuting 2 8" wholes in the standard front bumper just inder the headlamps to mount some fog lights such as super oscars.

I just don't understand.

You know that truck is :crybaby: .

Oh come on, it's not the 70's, 80's or 90's anymore!

Everyone is taking some vehicle and creating an alter ego machine. You know that it had to happen to a LC sooner or later.

Isn't there an Arab with a 150mph 80 running around Saudi Arabia? I'm sure that 99% of the posters on here would give their left nut wrench for it, and I'd consider that one out of the norm.

You know the more people that become interested in LC even the alter ego ones wil generate newer and better ideas for all.

I like it for what it is. Admittedly it isn't my cup of tea, but LX has bravely gone in a different direction with his 80 series. How many armored, slidered, winched and dented 80s are there? 100s. How many 80s with front skirts, custom interior, lots o bling? 1. Keep it up LX, and keep posting pics.

Nice ride!! Why not. If you don't need the offroad bumper go for the aero bumper. All them Escalades, Hummers, and Denallis do it. Why not a LEXUS. It's a luxury car too. Don't mind these guys... afterall this is a basically an offroad forum.

It's ugly on them too.

My opinion on the matter:

Taking an SUV, especially one that's as all-around capable as a Land Cruiser, and trying to turn it into a sports car would be like trying to make a condo in New York city like a Wyoming ranch by painting a picture of a mountain on the wall and playing horse noises on your stereo all day. You might be able to fool yourself, but most people aren't buying it.

Additionally, you end up kinda looking like a fool.

If you want a fast Toyota, buy a Supra. If you need more room than that, buy a new GS.

LX_TREME, please don't take this personally. You are a real nice guy and have been an entertaining member of the board, and furthermore are entitled to do whatever the hell you want with what you own. But just because you like something doesn't mean I or we have to, and you did ask for our opinion in this thread, so....

thats not a OEM JDM bumper..........gawd knows what it is or why..........but whatever floats your boat :D

I'd hate to come to EndLess's / LX_Extremes defense, but...

I've often thought of handing my LX450 over to the wife as a mall cruiser and going for a JDM diesel 80. If I did that I would make it more of a "cruiser" and less of a 4wd vehicle.

I've seen "Pimp my Ride" type LX450's and I must say I like the look. My wife would like to be lower to the ground, have chrome wheels, and a sporty looking front bumper. She like the reliability, safety, and style of the cruiser and since it will never go offroad, why not PIMP it out. Add a couple of monitors and a DVD player and your done.

Solid front axle trucks are the easiest to lower, did you ever see what people were doing to the Samurai's in the early 90's? It doesn't make it right, but I like the idea of having a "slammed" 80... that's really good in the snow.
