A common complaint with the 200 has been the headroom for taller drivers. In my search here I haven't really found any solutions. Recently, I stumbled across these seat lowering adapters that give you an extra 20mm. I don't know if it's worth it and they are pretty expensive (and not us based). Has anyone tried these?

I am hesitant to cut into my seats, but if these work it would be a game changer. Following with interest.

I was also thinking that with such a basic design, this may be a project for send cut send. I believe they do holes, bends and even powder coating. If the general idea works, it may be an option for us that are stateside.

I'm also interested in seeing how these work since the seat in my 18 LC seems a lot higher than the seat in my 13 LC did. Hopefully they are easy to install.
 
Was curious, so I went outside to take a closer look.

These make sense now.

Could also just cut the 20mm out of these brackets on the vertical section, but yeah, I’d rather not do that

Hello everyone, it is me - Vlad, a Toyota addict (currently owning few of them including an AE86), who (had to) made these adapters for the family LX570. With 6'6" but 39.4" inseam I simply could not see the road or drive the LX570. But as I cant find another remotely close family alternative to it I had to make it somehow work. The LX570 is a keeper.
The lowering happens at the rear, the heels are exchanged to custom brackets, each is different (size but also height). The OEM trim cannot be used afterwards but the adapters mimic the cutout in the floor carpet and cover this pretty well. The possible drop before the seat (fully loaded LX570) grinds the floor (and it does slightly) is 20mm (0.79"). With some backrest adjustment I could actually adapt to the LX although I have more still have more headroom in the Miata. And Miatas (as race toys) are my job by choice and I have quite experience with seat position corrections in them.
So far there has been interest mosty from Australia and the feedback is consistently positive.
Should there be interest and as I dont have distrubutor for these parts yet, I am able to and can offer to organise a group buy at discounted price but also shipping to a single location, which weirdtly currently includes these high brokerage fees and tariffs.

It is the simplest possible solution that works of course. Tall people need height removed at the rear to create headroom. The base front is OK the stay up high to support the longer legs (at it is natural with the seat adjustment).
The rear seat rail brackets are then only to be replaced. They are held with two rivets that need to be redrilled and there is a tiny weld on the side, which required trimming for the OEM heel bracket to be removed. The replacements are brackets, which have nearly the same angle (after adjusting for the 20mm correction) and bolt at the same location where the original rivets were.
The whole can happen with the seat in the car but is far more convenient to detach the three connectors and work outside the car. All in total it is pretty easy mod for any Toyota entusiast and does not need much time. It is also reversible as the OEM brackets can be reused if needed to.
I would say the hardest part is removing the tricky OEM trim from the rear of the sliders:).

If you would attempt to lower the front brackets (for no idea what reason) the busy seat underside will colide pretty soon with the floor thus not allowing for the rear drop (of even only those 20mm).

The seat still works for smallest drivers as the height adjustments are easily adjusting the seat to OEM angle and height (I have no idea who these cars were tailored to initially).

I finally got around to installing the Jass Seat Lowering Brackets, and I'm very happy with the results. Before installing them, I had the seat jackers on the front, and here are the measurements I took of the drivers seat all the way back and in the lowest position:

- front of seat to ceiling: 31-1/4" of height
- rear of seat to ceiling: 38" of height

After installing the lowering brackets and removing the seat jackers:

- front of seat to ceiling: 32-1/4" of height
- rear of seat to ceiling: 38-3/4" of height

I never really liked the additional seat height after I installed the seat jackers and now with both removed, the seating position is much better for me. I always felt like I was sitting way higher than any of my other vehicles in the LX...now it feels as it should. Post install, I've electronically raised the front of the seat a tad, and it feels so much better. Plus, getting in and out of the vehicle while it's running is much easier to slide my legs under the steering wheel with everything in the stored driving position.

Install was easy...followed their supplied instructions and everything went exactly how they described. I did use blue threadlocker on the bolts/nuts they provided to secure the new brackets to the slider rails. Lastly, because it does lower it so much in the rear, I used the angle grinder to take about 1/2" of the outer plastic trim of the seat just in the very back corners closest to the b-piller, because when the seat was all the way back it was causing the outer trim of the seat to bow out from hitting my carpet/husky liners. I also had to trim the husky liners so it didn't interfere, as well.

Otherwise, simple straightforward install, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone that thinks the seating position just feels too high, whether you're tall or not. It now feels much more normal and comfortable to me.

If anyone's wanting some seat jackers, I'll sell my set for $100 shipped. :)
