I did this build page, but thought I would do a video on the channel as well. If you'd like to check out the build, and the reasons I've done certain things, the video is below. 🙂

A couple of weeks ago I went up the Ashville Vehicle Outfitters in Jacksonville (their newer shop) and had a PowerBrake 4x4 X-Line with upgraded pads kit installed. While it was up there I also had them install a Magnaflow Overland exhaust. The truck has some added weight, and I really wanted to maximize my ability to get it stopped, and also not have to worry so much about building heat during descents, so a big brake kit was something I've been wanting. These things are huge compared to the factory brakes, but weigh roughly the same with the calipers being billet. The difference in brake feel and ability to get it stopped is pretty incredible. The truck brakes like a sports car now.

The exhaust I just wanted because I wanted it to sound better, and I wanted a high tuck so I wasn't coming off ledges and slamming the factory one. It does both of those. Nice low tone, sounds like a V8 now, and has a high tuck.

When I got back from that install I had my last piece of Goose Gear waiting for me, so that got installed too. Big install day for the truck.

Pulling back into the neighborhood, my steering got harder and harder. When I tried backing into the driveway it was almost impossible to turn. Upon further inspection, when I had the front bumper installed 5 YEARS AGO, the shop had to push the PS lines around to get the Ironman tow point to fit. When they did that, they showed the hard line up into the inner fender, and it finally rubbed through after all this time. I had never worked on or with steering, so I was a little unsure of how to handle it, but got it figured out. The hardest part was getting the PS line out, and the new one back in. What a pain. It's all back together now and working great. I guess that's why they discontinued selling the Prado tow points in the states. When I reinstalled the new line I just discarded the tow point. I still have one of the passenger side, so that will just have to do.

How's the drone and volume on the magnaflow?
None. I cruise around 70 on the highway and it sounds a little louder than stock. The only time it gets throaty is when I'm accelerating. So far I really like it.
That's great to hear. How's the volume? Is it disturb-the-neighbors level? I want to hear more of the V8 depth but I don't want to have the entire neighborhood knowing when I'm coming and going.

Is it this one you got?

Btw hottexhaust will just give you a 20% off coupon to bring that down to like $640 shipped.

Inside the car it seems louder than outside. You can tell it's there, but it's nothing like glasspacks or just chopping the muffler off. It sounds like a true, tuned exhaust. very streetable. I may be hearing it more inside because of all the seats being removed, even though I did some sound deadening.

I'm assuming that's your exhaust outlet in the picture above and you tossed the resonator?
After crushing the exhaust pipe twice into the rear axle, I cut off the rear resonator and had a shop weld on a short turn-out to the side outlet right after the muffler. Only drone is when engine braking at low speeds, <20 MPH.

the turn-down is part of the design:

I would agree with all of that. I drove mine for a 2 week overlanding / trail trip from Louisiana to CO and back. It never got old.
