Picked up the new ride late last night.

White 1998 LC
246k

Has its few small things to be addressed over time, and it's at the shop getting t belt and water pump now. Ready for this El Niño to finally make its way to Chicago.

Have I mentioned that we like pics?

:-)

Congrats! Now take it offroading and destroy the running boards, so you can get sliders!

And take pics whilst you destroy said running boards so we know this purchase is true!

I'll snap some pics when I get it back form the mechanic. One of my coworkers wanted to see pics the day after I bought it so I went to the dealers website that I got it from and I've never seen a car taken off a websites SO fast! Soon, very soon...

Add another proud owner to the forum. Never heard anyone complain about their purchase!

Congratulations!

I tired to pick up a 2006 with 268k yesterday out of Chicago area for $10k. Unfortunately I was 5th in line (on phone) only minutes after they opened.

Question; do the undercarriages in that area rust pretty bad?

Yes they do. I would look for one in the southern states and ask for undercarriage photos if you are not flying out to inspect the vehicle yourself.
My father works in a bodyshop and has done several of these and the newer 200 series. He had a 2012 LX570 on the lift recentlky and everything was rusted away. Couldn't break loose any bolt because everything is seized. The salt they use here must be on steroids as it tends to eat away at anything.

Thanks Kabanstva. Must be why my question wasn't being answered by Dealer.

You didn't miss anything. I wouldn't buy a rig from Chicago...

Just got home after picking it up from mechanic. Somethings that I need to address sooner than later. 1. Brake pedal sinks down pretty far on initial push. I asked mechanic to check it out, he ended up replacing all pads and e brakes, but I'm still having the exact same brake pedal travel before and after work was done. 2. Heater core flush. 3. Needs new windshield. 4. Needs a new battery. 5. (More of a personal need) I need a blizzard to hit Chicago so I can have some fun.

More things I'm sure to follow.
