Decided to bump this thread after reading it from front to back!

I cannot wait to get the 80 rolling how I want it!

Like Paul said all it takes is time and $$. Build it like you want in your mind and if it doesn't work out build it again . JUST don't let it live on jack stands :)

image.webp Getting a little more done . Checking the front/rear axles before making a long trip. Also putting the Harbor Freight manual tire machine to work :)
Mounted some 15x8 Champion Beadlocks under the carport

C the supervisor came in to inspect .did ya pass?

Very nice! Where ya headed?

Very nice Albert, digging the orange lock rings too

After getting a little to close to the trees at SuperLift ORV park again I'm going to give a try at some roof sliders and see how the work out for hopefully saving glass on my hard top. This is the rough draft, still have to build the short spacer/ reinforcement that will fit between the round pipe and flat stock.
Here is the start

Beautiful. What are the specs on the tube?

nice dat will worl.

Using 3/4" black pipe (water pipe) from Home Depoit. Since I'm not " running into" the trees just rubing / sliding against them it should work as planed. Goal was keep the weight up high light for trails yet still have protection.

Sounds good. Just wondering how thick you went. I think it's a great idea. May copy it someday if you don't mind.

How well did the wheels and tires balance out with the beads?

The pipe is .13 thick . image.webp

The roof slider should also give me a place to attach tarp as a "poor boy canopy" :) image.webp

If it works out Ryan it's all yours to copy ( let's just make sure it works 1st)

The Champion Beadlocks balanced out really good I used air soft BB's , I used Josh's recipe for the amount to add AirSoft BB Tire Balancing - TTORA Forum . We rode a little over 400 miles in Utah and a little over 200 on the last camping trip with you and Davin with no death wobble or weird looking wear in the tires that I can see.
According to my research, using more than the recommended amount per tire doesn't hurt anything. So if I bought 4 - 2000 count packs of BB's, I'd be right on at 8.46 oz each.

I little update to the build thread. Roof sliders worked out great !
Have noticed a lot of people that rebuild their 22RE are not happy with the outcome / verses money spent on the engine, mine in without a doubt tired so it time for a upgrade (there are a million choices here but this I feel will best fit my needs with not to many broken parts)
My "new to me" 99 Limited 4Runner 3.4 V6 auto swap !

Looking forward to seeing this one, Albert.
