Agreed. But every time I peek under the truck the yellow-on-black color contrast grabs my attention and I usually check them. It's a good way to quickly verify nothing has moved. Otherwise you HAVE to put a torque wrench on it just to "check" it. I'm not suggesting that a re-torque isn't good practice. I just think having that visual indicator can save you a lot of time and give you some peace of mind if you need to check 'em in a hurry or you're trying to quickly trouble shoot without a torque wrench handy. I put torque stripes on my control arm hardware as well when I installed new bushings. Should they ever come loose? No. Do I want to know they haven't moved anyway? Yes.
Marking them still requires you to be disciplined to visually inspect them regularly.
I like Joey's nut hugger idea. Or safety wire.
I bought new hardware for mine, I'll be redoing mine while my truck is off the road for other work.
Will probably wire them.
