Considering buying a warn upright winch on ebay. The seller does not know if it is a 8274 or not. The serial # is 258502. Does anyone know the answer?

I called warn to ask them but they are closed for the holidays. Auction ends today, so I need to know.

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section.

It doesn't match the serial numbers on their site for an 8274.

Warn Industries - Replacement Parts

It may be an earlier version or it may have been sold through a 2nd party. Jeep used to badge Warn winches as Jeep winches. I know of at least one earlier version that is identical to an 8274, but without a manual release handle (I think it is an 8273).

Have you got something more? Photo?

Hopefully you are not talking about that beat up piece of s*** from the new seller allegedly in Hew Hampshire making the claim that the winch was installed from the factory on the front of a 40 series...

Yep, that's an 8274. Doesn't look too bad, from what I can see. Don't know about the serial #. Could have been sold by Jeep, as I mentioned before. Looks to have a later model motor and a late model relay box/remote. Could be a good buy if not damaged. I see it's pickup only. Brandon, Miss close by?

Good Luck.

I think you need a bumper specifically designed to mount an 8274 on a 60-series. It'll stick out a bit.

Did you win it, Bryan?

no i didnt, the price went way up in the last few minutes of bidding. I was just trying to get it cheap.

Thanks for the help though, although i guess it was pointless in the end.
