Is this a good deal for Hankook tires and are they a good tire?

Need new tires for mainly on-road daily driving and mild off-roading. My local shop is offering me Hankook ATM LT 265/75 R16's installed, balanced, with taxes for $682. I've never heard about their quality though. What do you think? Keeping price low is a high priority for me right now. Thanks!

I work for a Ford dealer, we sell those for 157.00 installed and right now there is a $100.00 rebate when you buy those from a Ford dealer if you use a Ford Service Credit card so...no its not that great of a deal. As far as quality goes, imo Hankook is on the bottom end of quality. Most of the tires we sell go to the oil and gas fields, harsh conditions daily, and we don't see good things from that brand as a whole.

^^^EEEHHH

With all due respect I have to disagree. I have had Hankook ATM's on my 2010 Tacoma TRD for about 30K miles now and love them. They are much quieter and smoother than the BFG's that came stock on the truck. I don't go off-road very often with the Tacoma, but when I have they've performed very well. I'm running 265/70/16's on the Tacoma and have considered the 265/75/16's for the TLC. I actually like they looks of them as well. My .02

That being said, sounds like that is a marginal deal at best. I heard that Discount tire was starting some sort of rebate with these tires this week. You may check that out.

Search on eBay for them. Discount Tire Direct sells lots of tires there and they come with free shipping! I was able to pick up a pair of brand new Cooper Discoverer A/T's 235/16's for my RAV4 for $375 shipped after rebates and other promotions.

Had them and they were awesome. better than my terra grapplers, and those were awesome.

Ran BFG at's on my Hummer & hated them. They were garbage & I'm a huge bfg fanboy. Run their street tires on all my cars.

Anyway the Hankook dyna pro ATM were good in sand & in the rain and decent in mud.

Hankook is a brand I'll never buy again. Put a set of one of their AT style tires on the 80 and chased a vibration that would come on around 65 mph. Had tires rebalanced more than once but vibration remained. During the time of having these tires on replaced suspension, some bushings, rebuilt knuckles, etc. At some point I read something on MUD about tires out of round. Had the set checked and the tire shop confirmed that. I just lived with it at that point until the tires died. My experience with a set of Hankook MTs on a FJ60 is another reason I consider Hankook to be a poor tire choice.

Replaced with a set of Coopers that have bee much better.

I am interested in the tyre condom shown of the link above.
Never seen such a tyre chain/condom or what ever it is.

They have those in the stores over here in Japan for deep snow country but I've only seen them a few times in use. Most people just get proper winter tires.
