Hi guys, I've been trying lube my drive shaft, spent 2 hours only was able to get the 2 out of 6 (the rear most spider and yoke)
The rest although I had access , it just doesn't seem to lock like it's not seated all the way.
I have greased a GX470 completely with grease guns, but not sure why this is not working here, seems like the spiders are actually smaller or not as accessable.

Is there a small grease gun head that is required because I'm at a loss.

Do you attach the needle to the coupling and then push the needle to the zerk ball?

With two ramps, a floor jack, and the transmission in neutral, the front shaft is a breeze.

I use this

It also helps to have wife move the truck while I'm under it to position the zerks optimal.

I have seen this "lock and lube" also.. obviously you got it to work, you don't find it to the lever to get in the way?

Not if the Zerk is in proper position. I have the truck suspension on High.

Front shaft Zerks position for greasing:
Front 3
Center 3 to 6
Rear 12 o'clock

Rear:
All at 6 o'clock

When you say 3 o clock is that pointing towards the right door or left door of the vehicle?

I use a regular grease gun with a flexible hose and standard end. With the info @bloc posted it’s few minute job to hit all 6 zerks.

Sorry, should have clarified that is as you look forward, so 9 is LH and 3 is RH.
Also, the shafts are both turning clockwise when backing the truck.

I use this push on 90° thing from LockNLube, it’s by far the easiest method that I’ve found. They aren’t available at Amazon at the moment but I’m sure you can find it elsewhere or try one of the off brand ones. It comes in the accessory kit as well which is handy if you grease other stuff.

There is a few in the video? Are you using this one?

I greased the zerks on my LX570 with the lock and lube tip. They are all doable, front ones tighter then the rear. As previously stated there is just enough room to get it locked on based on rotating the shafts to a certain position.

I bought the lock and lube and it seems to be bigger for sure but this got done the front spider of the driveshaft.

The front one happens to be pointing at 2 o clock (towards passenger side, RH), no go.. I will try moving the car to 3 o clock next time. ( I don't have ramps ). It seems if the lock and lube can fit, then maybe a regular fitting can also do the job if it is at the right spot.

For LX you don't need ramps, just put it on high.
Yes, you can do that and jack under the sway bar link cup of one front LCA (with the transmission in neutral) to easily spin that tire and therefore the driveshaft. The tire only needs to be barely off the ground, for safety.

The ramps just give a bit more room under the vehicle to work.

Yes, that’s the one. Once you have used it a few times it’s much easier to get on the zerk and it makes this task so doggone easy. The clean up of excess grease becomes what I most cuss about now.

I have a specific flat-blade screwdriver with rounded edges for this job. Between that and index finger plus tight fitting nitrile glove I'm able to get most of it..

I use long bent tweezers (medical or hobby) with small pieces of pappper towels.
Works fine although still takes the most time of the job.
Flat screwdriver also works but not as well getting inside the spiders.
