I'm curious as to how many of you out there are using your 470s for family adventures. We have 3 kids and right now they're all still in car seats. 3 kids under 4... Yeah, we've heard all the comments. We know what causes that and we now have a TV in the room. I love my 470 but I worry about how family friendly it will be in the future. Right now we're definitely not taking it on any trips. Youngest is less than a year old and my wife is still warming up to all of this, though she's very supportive. Besides I haven't even tried to fit all 3 car seats on the middle seat. The 3rd row has hardly any leg room for my oldest because his seat sits him further forward. One positive is as they get out of the car seats that will free up room and they won't be that big anyways.

So, do any of you have 3 kids and travel with you 470? If you only have 1 kid, you're still living the good life. Trust me. And 2 kids will fit, I know. 3 is where it just gets crazy!

Well sir I have a 2yo 1yo and a baby due in December and I get it. Mine came with factory DVD players in the headrests. I have yet to take all the family on a long haul but I think it will be fine if we do. I also have a Yakima rocket box that will be utilized for long trips in the mountains. I myself have questioned the 3 car seat dilemma. I got my son a hybrid booster/car seat(Evenflo Advanced Chase LX Harnessed Booster Car Seat, Twist - Walmart.com) it seems to take up less room. The thing I like about the GX is you can flip down one seat in the 3rd row and leave the other one folded up or remove it completely until #4 and 5 come!

The other day I had my 10yo son, my 3yo son, a 7yo niece, and a 5yo nephew in the GX. Worked quite well, we keep the youngest behind the driver...not a lot of legroom for the 3rd row but nobody complained.

We didn't try all three on one row. Personally I like the third row for the distance in between the kids...they are brothers and fight like it.

I also have 3 children 4 and under ... (4,3,&10 months old) ... I have put all 3 on the just the second row bc they love riding in daddys GX (bc automatically that means we're going to the mountains they say ) ...

my 4yr old Oliver is in just a boster seat so it's the narrowest of the 3 seats so I put him in the middle and he has to tunnel under on the floor board to get in or hop over the front seat ... things are still very tight though ... the 2 huge car seats on the out side (why are they so big) that his sisters are in become like armrest .... if we were to travel in the GX on a trip farther than just in town my plan is to click in just one of the 3rd row seats for him and use the what little cargo room I have left next to that seat and the roof rack ... and I'll be investing in the strap on head rest DVD players that plugs in the cig lighter socket before I try traveling that far for sure ....
Now my cousin has a young one and two younger twins all in car seats and they pack them in an accord .... they bought special narrow car seats so they can fit all three... not sure the brand but I can find out ... but 3 standard huge car seats like they make now ? ... you'd be luck to shut the doors

@freddydt Btw I'll be coming into town this coming weekend for a beach wedding if yal wanna meet up ... sounds like a bunch of kids won't be an issue lol

And as for how all these babies so close happens ?! ... it's bc we're so sexy and our women cant keep thier hands off us that's why .... and its also why I went to the Dr to get that taken careful ;).... atleast that's what I tell everyone. .. God bless the parents of 3 or more children. .. we're just out numbered at that point lol

I have four kids ages 12, 9, 6 & 6. Did a 1600 mile road trip this summer pulling a pop-up camper with a cargo box on its roof. Had two canoes on top of the GX. Only two youngest in booster seats so 9 yr old was in between the twins and 12 yr old in third row with one seat removed. Hauled most of the gear in/on the camper. Worked great and plenty of juice from the V8. Small kids for their size so that helps. Driving from Iowa to Maine and back this summer. Probably no canoes on that one. DVD player strapped to the head rest and plenty of hand held entertainment for the crew. They travel well as they have been doing it since they were born. They have been to half the states in the US already. Started with a Honda Pilot which had more room but it struggled with the camper and full load on the last trip. GX to the rescue.

Mine will take seven full size young adults out to the bar and back home with the only trouble being hopping in for the impaired. With that said maybe a Sienna should be on the list as well for you. GL

Nice, better keep some puke bags in the glove box.

I just watched the videos on those new car seats! I think it's great. Probably a few years before the states see them.

Three kids, 12, 10 and 8. Currently the wife's DD and grocery getter/kid hauler...until the air ride gives out...
