The 119 degree weather today has officially taxed my A/C. I was going to order up a BG Frigi-Clean kit but can't find it anywhere. Is it available anymore? Is there an equally effective alternative kit with the valve and what not?

I too looked for a source of Frigi-Clean but came up empty handed. I ended up using a product called Lubeguard 96030 Kool-it Evaporator and Heater Foam cleaner with good results.

To get it into the system I drilled a 1/4" access hole in the plastic side of the evaporator housing box. The kit comes with a small hose that allows you to flood the evaporator fins with the expanding foam and let it do its work. I did this two summers ago, noticed a marked improvement in my AC performance, and it is still working well.
To finish up, I plugged the hole I had drilled with a inconspicuous black push-in plug like in the link below. Another advantage is i have easy access if I ever want to treat the system again.

I cleaned the condenser mid-june with a hose to get the dirt, stones and bugs off. It did help a bit. I have bought the spray you recommended but haven't used it yet. The fan clutch mod has kept the AC at about 50* all summer on the freeway and about 65* in town. It's tolerable until I can tackle it again over the fall/winter/spring with a revamp. Thanks for the info!Dissent, cleaning the evap coil is a good idea, but i have a question? Since your system is not as cold as you think it should be, when was the last time you cleaned your condenser coil? If it's fins are bent, or packed with bugs, grass, mud and small rocks it's going to effect the performance of your system. When i did a AC service on my customers cars i always made it a point to clean the condenser as part of a complete service. As to your evap coil cleaning needs, i use a commercial product made by Nu-Calgon, 1-800-554-5499 (P/N 4171-75) it's called "evap foam no rinse". You just spray it on, no cleaning rinse needed, dries on it's own. If you can find some it works great, plus the spray can even sprays upside down. Here's a link to Nu-Calgon web site. Can you show where you drilled the hole?

I just bought a new Frigi-Clean kit yesterday from my local NAPA store. $46 though, price has gone up.
Looks like you found your reference pics.Perfect, thanks! I just called up my local Napa and had them put in an order with their BG rep. It'll be nice not smelling the mold/mildew when the AC is kicking.
Looks like that part is NLA. From the pics it looks like the BG kit except it had a cone adapter which looks to stick in to be drain vent versus drilling a hole. Seems like that would be a better option, no?I have a cleaning kit I bought for my Lexus (smoker pre-owned) but never used.
It's Genuine Toyota and has aerosol two cans, one large and one small.
The big can says "A/C Power Foam Evaporator Cleaner & Refresher", "Step 1 of 2"
The little one says "ConditionAire", "Step 2 of 2"
Both cans say Part No. 00289-ACRKT
Hope this helps.
Got it in the mail today, followed the steps even watched the YouTube how to and I must say this thing works.

The evaporator drain expelled a good amount of dirty liquid (wasn’t able to take a picture).
