This one of those threads on mud that are so fun to watch. A question about an insignificant detail stirs emotions…then the downward spiral begins.

Ha, I just mentioned they stick out for no other reason than styling. Certainly NOT a deal breaker. The stirred emotions on this thread are from LC13-15 owners.

It doesn't matter too much unless you have to pay for the repairs. Cracking an FJ40 turn signal lens would be great. $35 to replace. The '16+ headlamps are $2000 each and the lens are not available separately. You can't just run with a cracked lens because the moisture will likely burn the LED's out. Fortunately, the protruding tail lights and headlamps are much cheaper.

Nobody is comparing a 200 to a 40. It was a Cost/Risk Analysis. What are the chances of breaking a headlamp/tail light? What will it cost if/when it breaks. $100? No problem. $2000? Maybe not huge problem but certainly puts a damper on the days fun. $2k buys a decent amount of mods.



In this case, it wouldn't have mattered. Abscessed tail light or not... would've been broken.
