FYI - Ironman 4x4 is having a 25% off sale site wide right now using the promo code FALL25 @ ironman4x4america.com .

I just picked up a set of genuine recovery points for $113 with tax and shipping. They are out of stock until 10/15 though.

EDIT - I received my recovery points with chipped powder coating and requested they replace them. The packaging was inadequate to prevent damage. Their response is below.

This was my first transaction and I won't be dealing with Ironman 4x4 again going forward. They don't stand behind their product and don't understand how rust will continue to peel the powder coating. I don't understand why these are bright red in the first place and now they are showcasing shoddy work. Paint would have been a better choice. They "think" and "believe" they know what the issue is but obviously don't care enough to research or correct the issue. Buyer beware.

Subject: Re: Internal Order # 47561 - Powder Coat Chip
Per my manager's response:
  1. I think all our recovery points are in a similar condition. I believe it is a factory issue. So, presently we are out of stock of any 80 series recovery points.
  2. These are thick chunks of metal. They may oxidize but they are not going to rust through before that truck is long gone.
  3. There are great products out there for this type condition. Rustoleum has some penetrating rust remove and rust preventive paints. Cardinal Paint has touch up products for powder coated products also. . . RD15 is probably the closest touch up.

Does anyone have experience of IronMan vs OME? I am wanting to take advantage of the 25% off sale for a 2" lift. The only thing i'm bothered by is my production date is 02/2000 and OME 2864 i'm being told only gives 1.5" of lift. I spoke with my local 4X4 shop and am being told you always get more lift from OME than they rate it for. Any experience between the two brands? If there is already a discussion on this can someone please link me to it?

You need to research the below link and also do additional searches on this forum as this has been beaten to death a 1,000 times.

I tried it with their awning and no joy.
