hello everyone i just joined up! im from co.wexford in the republic of ireland and i bought myself a 1985 bj70 on an old irish reg (changed in 86/87 to current system) to restore she has plenty of rust! as do most pre 1990 landcruisers in ireland as they were mainly owned by farmers!

i bought it without the engine and box so an engine conversion is on the cards!

ive also a new shell for the jeep as the original shell is far to rusty!

so here it is as i first seen her!

and some of the rust!

here is the replacement shell which is very good it just needs a dent in the roof sorting and some surface rust! the jeep will be painted a new colour so ill be taking it all back to the metal!

and the some of the bits i have for it

beige/brown interior

the bull bar of this other bj70

almost mint rear chrome bumpers! hard got here in ireland!

and here she is waiting to go to its new home

Sweet truck, welcome to the board! Looks like a big project.

Wow, good for you for taking that project on. Lots of work, but you've got all the right pieces there. I'll be following your progress with anticipation.

What is the LWB 70 series in the background of your last pick? Prado?

Rust repair panel source

Great looking stable of trucks you've got there. I've got an LJ70 that is in serious need of repair panels for under the doors. If you've got some good donors that these could be cut out of and shipped, I'd be happy to pay you for your time, parts, shipping, etc. to get them out here to Liberia.

Best,
Rich

Best of luck with that Jim
Maybe if you can get a few 70s you can patch one together
Fellow Irishman here (in WA/N Seattle) so if I can be of help - not sure how as I have an 80 model but Canada should have a few 70's around
Best to catch me via PM or email as don't hang around this forum area

canadian 70s are as rusty or worse than his truck ...
but
there are sources for parts that he can use.

Hi Jim. fellow Wexford cruiser head here. Have a Bj74 as daily driver. If I can help you can private message me via this site. Best of luck, you have a big restore job ahead of you. You will also get some advice on lcoc.ie the Irish cruiser forum.
