Arbetrader,

The VAIS SLI2-up works just fine in my 2004 LX with ML and an iPhone 4s. I am using the MD changer mode (CD changer mode is also an option). IIRC i posted pictures of the install on a thread here somewhere. Wish the 04 had a better interface but it works well for what it is and also charges the phone; quite handy for long trips. I manufactured a simple aluminum bracket to mount the phone to the left of the nav screen as well.

Thanks for that update!

Installed the PA15-TOY on my '98 yesterday.

Getting him ready to ship to Texas for my youngest's 2nd year at TCU...

Good opportunity to clean everything underneath.

Amazing easy and quick install. I recommend everyone get one of these. Gonna get one for the '03.

I just received my PA15-TOY and tried to install it. I do need the CAS - TLC cable in mine.
2002 LC w/ Nav

does anyone know if these work with the iPhone 5 ? wanting to get an interface for my wife's 2003...looks like I might want to spring for the CAS cable as well

The only ones i saw come with the older 30 pin conn. Not sure if you got an adapter if it would translate right or not. That's a good question. Maybe worth the wait to see if they come out with an updated interface, if you already have the iPhone 5.

BT 35 music streaming sound quality

I just ordered the USA Spec BT35-TOY from Crutchfield today. Should be able to install it this weekend. Will see how I like it.

I however have not ordered the CAS-LEX cable as the tech at Crutchfield said it was not needed. Will have to see if I can do without it on my 03 LX470..

Have you installed the BT 35 in your LC yet? I am curious about the sound quality. I read the user reviews on Crutchfield and most of the reviews say the BT portion for calls works great but the music streaming is sub par. The reviews say you have to turn up the music volume a lot louder to get decent volume and the bass is greatly reduced.

I wonder if the 98-02 years require the cas-tlc cable and the 03-07 do not require the adapter?? Seems from the posts that the 03+ guys have not needed the adapter. You are the only one I can tell from the thread that has a 98-02 that has needed the adapter.

Can anyone else confirm this that has installed the PA-15 in their LC??

My 2000 didn't need the adapter.

I have the bt35 installed in my 86 mini. It has a 2000 Tacoma radio. The audio quality is not as good as direct aux etc but with DSP manager I've got it sounding pretty good now

Does the ipod adapter work if you don't have the navigation?
I have the Premium stereo with the 6-stack cd in the center console and want ipod. It is either this or another stereo.

Thank you for the great write up/thread, I just installed the pa15-toy and I love it! I have a 2003 with nav and I didn't need the cas-tlc either.

So with my 02 with nag ill need the adapter harness as well, correct? And also, will the cdchanger still be able to be used? The write up on crutch field says that it will not but I think I read where pele here have still been able to use the changer after install, just looking for a clear as mud explanation...

Ok, I just installed the pa15-toy in my 2003 w/nav and 6 disk changer in armrest. I did not buy a CAS-TLC cable since others in this thread said it wasn't needed. I installed per the instructions, and set the dip switches to #2=ON, #3=OFF, #4=ON. Plugged in my iPhone5 with 30pin to lightning adapter to the unit and powered the system on. It is not recognizing it at all. I scroll through the disk numbers and it only sees the 6 disks in the changer. The disks in the changer play fine but nothing from the pa15-toy. There is no indicator light on the unit so I don't even know if it's getting power. Any ideas? Anyone with an 03 need to use that CAS-TLC cable?

Bump. Did anyone have to use different dip switch setting than what's in the manual?

I used the standard switch settings but there was some "resetting" sequence that I had to go through a couple times to get mine to work. I don't remember the sequence but generally turning the car off, waiting, then plugging in the unit, then turning the key on. Something like that. The folks at USA SPEC were pretty helpful when I called them about this. You might have similar luck with them on the phone.

In one instance (I have two of the USA SPEC devices, the other in my LS 430) I had a bad cable which once replaced solved the problem.

And for the record, I didn't use the extra TLC cable.

Thanks! I'm also noticing that it says to remove all discs in the changer before plugging the unit it, so I'll give that a shot as well.
