I came from a Jeep JKU which has a ton of accessories to mount CBs, phones and ipads. What do ya'll use to mount these accessories, and where do you mount them?

I use a RAM mount system mounted on the center console (passenger side). I did back the mount with a pre-drilled metal plate for stability. Credit to Tom at Adventure Ready who uses this approach on his own Land Cruiser. I can share a picture in next 24hrs if you'd like a visual.

I am one of the few anti mount people, keep your eyes on the road not the screen.

x4 on the ram mount, the key is the rod is solid but bendy aluminum. I made a kydex holder of my own design.

I used RAM mounts on the Jeep and really like them as wel. Can anyone share pictures of where they mount them to? At first glance, there aren't many points where I can screw into in the cabin. Need a place for a CB, scanner, cell phone, and my Garmin Explorer. Thanks!

Will be back in stock in the coming weeks. Metal is a bit of a commodity right now.

Ram has a bracket that goes under the passenger or driver’s front seat bolt.

That is exactly what I need - Just drill through the dash? What kind of hardware?
Yak Attack 8" gear track & Yak attack or ram mount 1" track balls.
Ram now makes a track but its plastic and I preferred metal. The yak gear track comes in a double or single screw configuration in 4",8", and 12". I chose 8" double screw for strength and because the 12" didn't lay flat all the way before the dash radius changed. I took my radio out to make sure I didn't drill an ECM, and used 1/8" bolts into T nuts under the dash to bite into the plastic. The dash cover is really soft so your bit will basically punch through and then drill through the plastic. The holes are so small they're almost invisible and easy to fill if you change you're mind. This is the most stable set up I found that put things in sight but didn't obstruct vision, other things, and encroach on my passenger.

I'm about to start this project pre-HIH9 and have a couple questions:

1.) Did you use any backing plates for the underside to protect against the track pulling out or flexing? Is that even necessary?

2.) Have you been happy with the overall security of the setup (no vibrations, etc.)? What about that RAM tab-tite mount for the tablet? I use the standard RAM X-Grip, but want something more like the tab-tite.

3.) Did you use the "medium" length arms with double-ball attachments?

My setup will look identical to yours with my iPad mini (loaded with GAIA) in the middle, my iPhone8+ on the driver side and my Midland 75-822 on the right with an additional split and holder for my Baofeng UV5R.

Double suction Ram mount - never had any problems going down hundreds of miles of washboard.

LOVE those double suction mounts. I use them when I fly. I would use them in my LX, but I just had tint added to my windshield to lower heat and improve UV protection. The suction cups would cause issues with that, so I have to go with a hardmount track on my dash.

Got it @geanes. I need to look into that for around here. At least it's a "dry" heat though. Nowhere near as uncomfortable as TX IMO.

Hopefully this stuff makes a difference. I've been assured by the installer and others around here that have it that it's about a 35% heat reduction with 99% UVA/B protection as well. Supposedly mitigates the "dazzle" of oncoming headlights at night as well which would sure help my old eyes out. Will still use the window shade when parked though.

As for heat and humidity....well, it's more uncomfortable here than up there in Utah for sure. But, I went to St Louis, MO and Bentonville, AR last month and HOLY COW was it uncomfortable there.....hot and HUMID. I keep a Ryobi 18v fan in my tent and that couldn't even keep me comfortable at night. Now I know why midwesterners want AC on their campers.

I'm planning my Utah trip for September. Working out logistics for Canyonlands (White Rim Trail), Arches and Capitol Reef. Plan on getting there via the Rim Rocker from Montrose to Moab.
