Well it's been a bit.

Probably out trolling for another..................I think he just throws a line out the window to see what bites.....................wonder what he uses for bait?:D

I'm down in D'animal's backyard, trolling in a helicopter, but the bait is a secret...

I know I'm a bad man, and you should know that things will not improve in the near future;p I did order a clutch though, I think I will throw a 135/25 trans/25 tcase in, fix a few thigs, and call it good. Easy!

Sounds like a good plan, but...what about the white one...any news?

Ok, so I have a few days off, I'm going to see if I can make this thing a real FJ-25. The kids have named it "Hunter" (I'll add the S. Thompson!) and the paint job stays. Lucky me, the PO included touch up spray cans so I can blend in repairs to the rear sill. Pulled it in to the garage last night and got a better idea of the task ahead...

I like the silicone rear sill.............nice touch. Did the tailgate fall off? :D

Now let's see that tranny...........

I see a 2F. what sort of brake master is that?

Not for long, must have Mighty Mighty 135....gathering parts is kinda fun around here, odds are good but the goods are odd...

Dunno what kind of master it is, want it? I can deliver when I pick up the Next rig;)

Hey Phil, let me know if you are flying out my way...I've been looking for a decent F135 myself, and find none north of the border. Actually, to make things worse, I've been offered a couple free F135 from some good people on mud, "if I can come by and get them", but to ship them up here is retarded :frown:

probably pass on the master, but what year is the 2F? drilled for power steering mount? If so I might take that off your hands. LOL I will have another 135 coming out , maybe in the spring. you can look it over when your in Helena.

Started to put things together. Made a pilot bearing puller out of a long bolt notched half way through at the end. Jam an allen wrench in the bearing to keep the bolt in and pull...

Got the trans on then off then on again...then had to deal with the gears. In the 25 trans first and second gears on the mainshaft are (Get This!) riveted together. On this particular trans the rivets are very worn, first gear rattles around barely hanging on. Instead of depending on a sign to remind me and others not to use first I decided to prevent the shift lever from engaging first. Reverse, which uses the first gear, will just have to be used with care. I'll keep it like this untill a better gear can be found.

The basic idea was to make a spacer to prevent the shift fork from moving first/second gear in the "first" direction. This is what I came up with, a piece of copper pipe may have worked also, but there are clearance issues between first gear and the shift fork rods so rubber hose was right out.
