It's on Craigslist Bozeman, I was curious, it looked so much like yours, I thought it was you then I rechecked the year of yours just to be sure, Larry

No, not mine. I had to let the 4Runner go though. No parking in my neighborhood here in Boz Angeles. But, I'm saving for some fun goodies for the 40. :)

Hey, Im Nico, I live in Butte and just bought my first cruiser. Its a 74 fj40, found it in Ronan. Got to get this thing ready before huntin season.
Nice to see theres a bunch of MT guys here

Nico

I just bought a 76 40 in Bozeman that was on CL.

I am in GF at the moment, but moving down here in a few months.

just lurking

I'm the proud new owner of a 1973 FJ40. I've owned 3 Jeep Wranglers but decided to go down a different path with an FJ this time. My parents owned an FJ40 in the 80's so I have a soft spot for them. My hubby and I are hoping to do a few things to make this our own but it's in pretty good shape to start with.

We live in Billings, MT; we moved from Sheridan, WY in 2007 so we're still kind of "new" to the area. Especially in regards to the trails in the area.

I'm looking forward to meeting more FJ owners in the area.

Wow! Your first post! Welcome! I'm in Billings, too. PM me sometime. I'd like to see your '40.

:)

Here are two pics from the former owner in CO, (Medicino here on Mud). I didn't get the hard doors from him so the trailer pic from our trip home is how it looks currently.

I hope to get some more pics of it this weekend!

I like it!

Hey guys, I'm new to this but I can see how addicting it can be. I'm from bozeman but have been working overseas for a few years now. I can't wait to get home to start adding the mods on the new FJ62. If you guys have any Idea's or suggestions I'm all ears.

Hey guys!

My name is Amanda, and while we're confessing, I thought Land Cruisers were absolutely hideous for...a long long time. And then I drove an FJ60 around for a while. After that while was up my dad practically had to steal the keys from me to get his vehicle back. I had seen the light. Back to the Chrysler I went...and then the Chrysler died so my dad picked up an FJ60 for 500$ and I absolutely love the little guy! We had to replace the brake master cylinder, and put a muffler on him...but I think that's all it really took to make him my daily driver.

Now I'd like to keep him my daily driver. When I first got him I decided that my goal was to keep him going to 350,000 miles, 41,000 to go! Except now I've been silently raising that aspiration to loftier heights.

I'm over in Missoula, so if any of you guys are passing through the area... :)

Let's see if I can't breathe some life into this thread.

I've been in Bozeman or Billings for nearly 12 years now. Back in my formative years, I was member of the now defunct PNW TLCA. I used to drive both a 72 FJ40 and a 91 FJ80. I miss them both dearly, but the 40 wouldn't have made the trip to Montana and my dad totaled the 80 thanks to a semi driver asleep at the wheels.

As of a few weeks ago, I picked up UZJ100 and have already begun to mod it. First order was new tires. Then the running boards came off. Next will be sliders ... which brings up another question, any of the shops in the Gallatin valley do any fab work? I only know of Mike's in 4 Corners and Renegade.

In any case, pictures to follow of the Hundy, or "Old Chub" as it is now known.

Let's get together and wheel!

Fab work? there is a decent shop in Helena.

Another Bozemanite. Nice! I'll be sure to wave when I see you.

Dark Horse Customs does fab work too. A couple guys left Mike's and started this place. I had parts for my Vortec swap cut there on their cnc plasma table.
Also, I have a JD2 tube bender w/ 1.75 round die, and my roommate has a welder if you'd have any interest in making your own...

Really? Good to know! I had seen the DH Custom sticker here and there, but didn't know what it was all about.

Regardless, I'd love to support some local guys. I'll shoot a PM your way.

Thanks!
