Hi all,

New to Arizona, stationed at Fort Huachuca but a long-time Toyota 4WD fan. Grew up in the back of an FJ40 and I'm currently on my third 4Runner. That being said, I haven't driven a lot of overly technical trails. Going off-road for me has mostly been in order to find a good fishing spot or to access remote trail heads.

Looking forward to hitting the trails and learning a thing or two.

Regards,
Joel:beer:

Welcome take a look at our run of the month thread we have a run planned for next week in Tucson. It is stocker friendly come out and join us!

Picked up a new (with 219K miles) LX:grinpimp: This one has no lockers like my first:meh: So plans as of now are.. PM work, Lift, leaning toward a Detroit in the rear, bumper build for rear.. If the Tucson meets keep up I guess I will need to join up if LX's are allowed:hmm:

Cool let the mods begin:D

Yes indeed...today I am doing the PHH and rear heat delete, Loosing the running boards and the cool brush guard:grinpimp:

I do not remember the handle of the guy that bought 3x locked 97...I think he is a member, I would like to see what he has done to it..

Anyway I look forward to meeting everyone and building my wannabe Cruiser AKA LX450:cheers:

Introducing myself

Hi everyone, I am Andy, located in S.E. Chandler.
My current Toyota is a 2003 Tacoma but am looking for the right LC, or maybe even an LX. Still torn between an 80s and 100s. There's an 40th Anniversary on CL I am going to ask about in a new thread.

LostAfrican refers to my roots - grew up in Southern Africa (Zimbabwe mostly) - where LCs get good exercise.

I'd like to attend a "meet" if there's one coming up?

Also, I saw the aftermath of a horrible role over on the way home from MX yesterday afternoon. I10 between Tuscon on Phoenix (S/B), about 3:45 pm, green 80. Hope it wasn't any of you all. Looked like the occupants would have been ok.

Welcome Andy, feel free to attend any meet or run we have they are open to anyone with an interest in CSC or if you just want to hang with the cool guys. The next Run of The Month is this Saturday!!! It will be a great time to meet CSC people in the valley and Tucson.

August Run Here!!!

Hope to see you there

Thanks Chuy! I would love to, will need to make some plans and check with "management". Do you think I can handle it in my Tacoma (2WD with R. Diff-Lock) - perhaps I can skirt the interesting stuff? Doubtful that I'd have a LC by then AND know it well enough to go out in the bushes with it...

Your basic "newbie", and CSC #273

Purchased a 1993 LC a few months back, had no idea what I was purchasing, just thought it looked cool, drove well, cold AC and figured it was better than a mini van.

Whoa!! I got the surprise of my life after I purchased it--doing research on the web I found ih8mud and discovered this vehicle is no ordinary vehicle.

Quickly got sucked into the addiction and now I'm ready to begin "mod's" (learned that term the other day).

I'm really proud to be an owner and definitely humbled by the knowledge you all carry.

I believe I'm CSC member #273.

I don't know much about four wheeling but am dying to learn!

I live in S. Chandler by Intel fab.

Thanks for listening and feel free to reach out.

NIce rig Zona - I see you have the Depot headlights and a pushbar too.

It looks like you went camping with another 80. Is that the person that introduced you Land Cruisers?

I happened to be up around the Mogollon rim that day on a trail and this beast was there. I had to park next to it. Great guy who owned it.

I was introduced to the LC by accident, it came up for sale, I bought but had no idea it what it was. I kept calling it a "land trooper" during the negotiating process of buying it. I know, sacrilege.

I thought it was an another good toyota vehicle with low mileage.

I'm surprised that many of these sell for less than $10k used? Shocked actually, I consider it a luxury vehicle that just so happens to be able to take you anywhere!

I like the ARB bumpers but would rather pay someone to make me one locally. I like to shop local.

Lastly, I'm trying to learn how to do some stuff on my own but don't even know what kind of tools to buy? I have changed the oil/oil filter, air filter by myself but am hoping to learn more.

There are several of us that live pretty close to you. Bel glad to help whenever. Or, you could drop by the shop sometime. John

Thank you Inkpot! I very much appreciate it, where is your shop? I would love to cruise over and introduce myself.

Maybe, but Im not the best person to ask as I always lean more on the cautious side with other peoples TOY's. I would offer you a seat in my cruiser but I have a full load 2 women 2 kids 2 dogs and no 3rd row. Post up for an open seat in the Run of The Month Thread Im sure someone has a free seat.
