What condition is the other motor in? Is it a known quantity? I'd sure hate to swap it in only to find it also has issues.

Well I've been divorced about 12 years now but I'm still a favorite with all the in-laws. They are from El Paso and many of them are in the used car biz there. The yard where I picked up the motor was recommended by them plus it came with the standard 30 day guarantee so I'm fairly secure on the condition. As with all used items there is always a risk but the cost of a rebuild being beyond my means at the moment and the fact I couldn't find a used motor anywhere in AZ really left me with little choice. So my fingers are crossed!

Hey Daryl, I certainly will. Do you camp at Sandy Beach or what? All these years I've been going I think I've done the hotel thing once and rented a house once. All the rest has been with my feet poking out of a tent.

Used to camp when I was very young with my parents, then I did the hotel thing, and now Jami's aunt & uncle just finished building a monster of a house on the bayside in Cholla Bay. That is where we have stayed for the last 4 years when we go down.
 
Sweet, I'm sure I've passed the house many times going to/from JJ's.
 
Everyone in or out of Cholla Bay passes it. Second house on the right, after the guard shack.:D
 
Yep, and I just heard from my neighbor that keeps an RV at Playa Bonita that it just sold recently to investors who are going to turn it into condos in the near future. He also has a good friend he hangs out with in RP that is a business associate of Gus Brown's that he just sold another parcel of Sandy Beach to the Westin Hotel for some Billions of dollars. Whether that is what's left of Sandy Beach up to the Reef or not I don't know. A friend and I keep saying we need to take a weekend to go exploring down there for a new beach to camp at but we just never seem to get around to it. And once we get there it's too hard to get our asses off the beach and go look. Anyone know of a place that is nice but not so remote that it would be too far to replenish the cervezas if need be? Either South of RP or Northeast or RP.
 
New FZJ 80

Hey I just found this site and will probably be asking quite a few 80 questions in the future.
I just traded my FJ 40 (going through withdrawls, I've had it forever) to a buddy for a 93 FZJ 80.
I just put an OME lift on it and have a CDL switch & s/s brake lines to install next weekend.
My name is Johnny & I moved from Prescott to Ajo about 6 years ago.
A change in scenery & new trails to explore.

My name's Mike, I've lived in AZ for 10 years now. All but the last 3months were in Havasu. now I'm in Kingman at the base of the Hualapai Mts. Just thought I'd drop a quick howdy to any Northwest AZ'ers out there!
 
Good evening. I got the job yesterday so I'll be coming back to Phoenix Thursday. Hopefully I can find an apartment and move in immediately cause I really don't want to spend the money/time to lug my stuff into a storage unit.

Thanks! I am loading the trailer I rented today in the morning before it gets hot (damn if it isn't in the freaking 90 here in L.A.)

I was mistaken the job is not in Scottsdale, it is in Phoenix on the 4600 block of Baseline, I am looking near there to save gas/time.
 
Congrats on the new job. I live right down the street at 28th and Baseline. There are a bunch of apartments right off of Baseline from 46th to 32nd Street. Some better than others. You may want to look in the Pointe South Mountain and over the hill in Ahwatukee - down 48th street - are some better places. Covered parking and some with garages. Also rental houses in the area. Only problem with Ahwatukee is getting through the Pointe SoMo choke point (you'll see);)

Thanks for the welcome. Greetings to ALL ya folks, I just dont 'see many NW AZ'ers on here or the other forums I visit, so it was a shot out to da 'locals'.
