Family just joining with our HJ60

Hello everyone - We searched and searched for just the right combination of age/price/motor for a 60-series diesel 'Cruiser and finally found one (after having just bought a gas 60 here to "try one out") in Chilliwack, BC, Canada, this past summer.

We're just now getting the time to join the list, and join Copper State 'Cruisers for the meet tonight. The FJ60 is for sale, so we'll bring both to the meet for show-and-tell...

Right now, I have to help get the family headed out the door for the day, so I'll do a longer intro later, and good overview of the saga of legally importing a diesel 'Cruiser from Canada (it's easier than you think)...

In any case, for starters, here's a photo of the diesel's first tread marks into Arizona in August...

Look forward to meeting you!

Nice to meet you Tom! Damn that 85 gas truck is CLEAN! Anyone considering a 60 right now needs to talk to TOM about his.

Family had fun...

Thanks to BMan and everyone week-ago-Friday... We had fun seeing all the different 'Cruisers and setups. It gave me too many ideas for the Biodiesel...

Thanks also to BMan for the kind words about the gas 60. I have listed it in the "Vehicles For Sale" section here on IH8MUD and also here more locally on the Copper State Cruisers forums. We're pretty interested in selling it, so if you know anyone interested, I'd be glad to talk to them and figure out a price that works...

Hi all,

Name here is Ernie. I am a native Arizonan living in Tucson and am a retired high school teacher. I have two Toyotas(Toysx2). One is a 1968 FJ40 that I bought new when I turned 21 from Scott Toyota. I paid $3050 for it. It has seen several changes over the years--small block chevy conversion about 30-35 years ago, GM SM465 transmission about 15 years ago. It is also now sporting the later(post 1975) hard top after many years of running a soft top. The truck goes into and out of semi-retirement as my mood changes. Appearance-wise, it should be probably be considered a "beater", but normally doesn't do too badly. My other Toy is a 2006 DC Tacoma with the 6 speed manual transmission and factory locker. That is my town car and is used for adventures out of state.

I agree with DD. She looks fine from her pic!

Hi, I'm Jake and i've been addicted to FJ's since my first memory. My father owned a sweet FJ 40 for years, went on many colorado adventures, but he eventually sold it,(that bastard should have saved it for me) . He taught me everything about 4 wheeling and was in many clubs. My brother in law owns an awesome 60 done by the notorious Kort of this side up club. I was going to purchase this vehicle when it was in stock form, and he stole it from under my nose, perfect condition (that bastard) So now I'm the proud owner of an FJC and loving every minute of it. I've been chiming in time to time here, but never really introduced my self(how rude) I go wheeling whenever I have free time and hit the trails hard( I aint scared) I love this forum, landcruisers, and enjoy hearing all the storys/pics.
SEE YALL ON THE TRAILS!!!

In AZ For Now

Well I already posted in the truck area, which if you unbolt the rear top and rollbar it does look like LOL. Anyway, I just bought an 86 4Runner, and just turned the clock to the 263,xxx mark. Not really much more then stock for now... just red SAW/Ranchos/31"Mud Kings on AR 16" wheels. Aussie locker next couple weeks. Hope to get out at least once or twice before we relocate to Colorado.
