I'm new here...I'm 32 and a fireman here in SD. I bought a stock '94 cruiser about a year ago and so far runs great! I've only taken surf trips to Baja (La Salinas, San Quintin)....planning a trip in Jan to "The Wall" Santa Rosalalita...then, "Scorpian Bay" San Juanico...?

I wanna gradually upgrade...lift kit 2 1/2", front and rear bumbers...prefferably used. Please let me know if you know where I can find deals. I do wanna get into real off-roading as well. Seems like a cool and informatitive site. I can always use tips, suggestions, and advice.

Thx, Simmon

You found the right site for tips, suggestions, and advice.

Welcome! (again)

Welcome! May I suggest sliders as an addition to your list if you plan to do any wheeling where rocks are involved. They seem expensive at first until you see what can happen without them.

:flipoff2: Official Mud Welcome! :flipoff2:

Some great guys down in the SD area.

Huge advice in the FAQ area of the 80's section. Be careful. The Mud Mod disease is very contagious! Just ask Druck!

Welcome, and there are many trails a whole lot closer than where you are surfing to get your feet wet in the wheeling game.
But as far as surfing in Baja you should add an aux gas tank to your list of mods to add another 20 or 40 gals to your tank.
As for cheap bumpers you better make a friend who has killer fab skills. Because even used the bumpers will run your over $500 easy. But keep an eye open in the For Sale section and you can find great deals in there from trusty board members.

Now where are the pics of your rig? :flipoff2:

Welcome and glad to have you. We are a pretty informal group and welcome all expereince levels on all our runs. Look forward to wheeling with you someday.

Welcome :flipoff2:

Could not have bought a better vehicle to explore Baja in. Hope to see you on one of our trips. First mod should be a good set of sliders, opens the door to a ton of trails without worries of rocker damage. Keep us informed of any surf trips you take to Baja. Some of us might be able to join you. Aren’t we coming up on Scorpion Bay’s surf season? I think the best time down there is Oct and Nov. no?
