Hello all - first time to post, have been reading up and educating myself after purchasing my first LC a few weeks back. Appreciate all the great info!

I bought a 2000 Cruiser that currently sits at 255k miles and appears to be in outstanding condition. Below is the list of maintenance and upgrades (with the mileage that it was done at) that were done in the last couple of years by the PO - it seems to me that most of the major potential boxes have been checked as far as preventative/baseline maintenance, but I'd love to hear recommendations on anything further that I should consider doing to keep it running in top shape. My usage will be both as my daily driver and for the occasional camping/off-road trip a few times per year with my 4 sons - my focus is on vehicle longevity and upkeep as the current build-out and setup is more than adequate for any of the off-road conditions I would ever find myself in.

242k
Timing belt service - water pump, pulls, tensioners, fan clutch, oil pump tensioner, heater T’s and serpentine belt

246k
Steering rack, steering pump and reservoir lines
Both diffs and T-case serviced

248k
New rear drive shaft and u-joints, new 555 tie rod ends. OEM CV axles disassembled cleaned, degreased and put back together with new boots

249k
Master brake cylinder, new seals, sensors and rebuilt ABS motor

250k
4x Eibach tuned shocks
2x OME rear coil springs
2x OME torsion bars
SPC rear LCAs
Freedom Off-Road front UCAs
Trail Tailor front extended end links
Super Pro rear extended end links
SLEE diff drop
Wheel bearings cleaned and repacked
SLEE sliders
ASFIR aluminum skid plate

252k
Front rotors and brakes changed with all OEM parts at Toyota (oil change & fluid service while there)

Picture below is from when it had on stock wheels and 295/75/16 KO2s - I do still have the 16" wheels but at the time I bought it the PO had switched to 18" LC OEM wheels with 255/70/18s Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts. Will probably go back to a meatier tire at some point and at that point will have to decide whether to stick with 18s or go back to 16s.

Fantastic! My recent purchase upgrades were: BFG tires (275/70/18), actuator motors (door locks), some interior cosmetics, BT45 Bluetooth module, and rock sliders. The best upgrade was the $199 Bluetooth module!

Next on the list: ARB Storage Drawers and Compressor.

It sounds like a fair number of the rubber mounts/bushings have already been done, but if it were mine, I’d continue working through the others, as the opportunity presented itself.

Any brittle old plastic and/or old rubber in the cooling system?

More than 1 master key?

@suprarx7nut YotaMD shell, for when a key breaks?

@medtro EFI bypass kit, for if/when you have that issue?

@ranma21 ignition rod, for if/when you have that issue?

Nice! What wheels do you have with your new tires? Would love to see pics - as I mentioned above, at some point I'll have to decide between 18" and 16" wheels when I go to a more aggressive/larger tire.

Agree on the bluetooth, PO had also installed a nice Bluetooth/LCD screen combo unit, it's very nice to have that modern capability at hand. Also have an on-board air compressor which is quite handy.

Been doing some other interior cosmetic changes too. Just finished installing a new leather steering wheel cover yesterday, made a surprisingly big difference over the very aged/peeling leather on the original. The process of sewing it on sure was tedious, though.

I'll have to dig into the cooling system and check that out, and will add inspecting and replacing any further mounts and bushings to the list.

Yes, it thankfully came with 2 working master keys.

The PO actually had an EFI bypass part in his "spare parts" that he passed along to me, so I think I'm covered there.

Thanks for weighing in!
