Hi Everyone,
Recent FJ40 owner, always wanted one so I am pretty excited and looking forward to learning more about the vehicle and options to improve.
I imported mine from Venezuela, I have a friend that does quality FJ40 rebuilds so gave it a try.

Welcome! Appears to be a pretty clean 40, hopefully it was built as good as it looks.

Check that windshield to make sure it's laminated glass, and not tempered.

What is this piece that is on the lower outer window channel? Looks like an extra rain diverter? I'm asking because
i just replaced all my window channels and felt and really don't like the way water will still easily pass between the
window and the door.

Nice looking rig! Like the pin stripes! Might wanna remove/ relocate that license plate holder with OEM. Current one looks like it will deflect air that needs to hit the radiator!

Hmmm.... I see that this is different on the 80+ with some kind of rubber sweep on the outside instead of the felt. No need to hijack this thread trying to figure out if i can use a rubber sweep. Carry on! Good looking rig.

Great advice, thanks. I just went ahead and remove it, I don't need a front plate and it actually looks pretty bad.

Here is how it looks with the windows down, it had the metal piece on both side.

Those metal pieces were added on… to give it more bling

Nice color. I think the added strips on the door are to prevent paint rub, when your arm is resting there.
