Intro + Build/Progress Thread: Original Paint 1984 FJ60 Modernization + OEM Plus (3 Viewers)

Haven't really had the opportunity to do anything (fun) to the truck, but did end up replacing the Steering Box (leaking) and the outer tie rods as they were in pretty bad shape, followed up with an alignment.. Also replaced the rear transfer case output shaft seal and flushed all the transfer case fluids.

On the fun note, weather finally cooperated and was able to get a quick wash in and a photo in it's new surroundings. No more open spaces and mountains, now confined to cobblestone streets and urban life.

Spent a little bit of time the past weekend doing some minor updates. I wasn't 100% sold on the Con-ferr roof rack that came with the truck, so took it off and am trying it out without the rack on. So far, I'm leaning on keeping it off. Here's how she looks with it off.

Also, finally got around to installing my Inclinometer from @FJ40GURU - I think this completes my dash mods (except for a new dash from The Rust Farmers, when available) and updates for the time being. A before and after - really liking having the clock (and my kids love seeing how 'crooked' the truck is when driving around).

Looks nice! You may need to add a factory grab bar too!
