Hi guys, Hoping you can help with this issue.

The G/F Is having to start the land cruiser twice in the mornings to get the interior fan to work. On first start up there is no "power". After turning the truck off and then back on everything fires up and works normally auto/low/high etc. Always works second time sometimes works on initial start up

Is it a Relay/Resistor? Or could it be the fan itself which is making some squeaking noises

2000 Land Cruiser

Replace the blower. If its making noise it is likely causing some resistance preventing it from working all the time. If it were a relay, likely would not work at all, 100% of the time.

Start with the blower, it's by far the cheapest AC part and will likely fix the issue.

Thanks. Yah that's probably my next move.

Ive told her to turn the car to ON but not START to test the blower (and save the starter) and everytime she has done that it has worked. So I will continue to monitor it.

You sure she's not set to auto (engine cold), in running test.

I've (in other vehicles) use a plastic safe spray lube on blower bushings. You could try as test before buying new.

Ive pulled the blower out a few times. Mostly to quiet the squeaking and lube it up.

Its happened to me a few times too when Ive jumped in the truck, fired it up and gone down the road, tried to turn on the fan but nothing works high/med/low/auto. Turn it off at a stop light and turn the truck back on and everything is back to normal.

Pretty odd

Yes odd, but squeaking or is it more of s squeal of bushing in need of grease. May be serviceable or may not be IDK, You've had it out what do you think.

Over time brushes ware, even fast when out of tilt.

I had same problem and blower made excessive noise. Replaced blower and it completely fixed the problem.

My blower stopped working last week so I started to look for a replacement. Based off this parts list and its associated diagram I ordered this blower motor from amazon. It arrived today and it is the wrong size (smaller than OEM) and doesn't have the right electrical connector to match the vehicle harness.

I googled the denso pn thats listed on the OEM unit but nothing came up. The OEM # listed is: 194000-5093, the unit I received has the following #: 194000-0352.

Can someone help me find the right denso replacement or at least give me bit of direction?

Thanks.

Having the same issue. Intermittently. Has anyone fixed the intermittent problem with cleaning and lubing? I am trying this prior to replacement. Also, where is the cheapest place to buy, I have seen people say $60 and the ones on scamazon are $147.

Part # 87103-60250

I returned the blower I bought off Amazon and ordered one from lexuspartsnow.com. My notes say I spent $126 on it with part number: 87103-60250. I did not try to clean or lube it up though.

Good luck.

Thank you. I will report back. Truck has 246k miles and I have never run the filters.

Thank you for the post. This is a half banana job.

The bolts/screws are 8 mm.

Takes under 1 minutes to take out and does not require removal of glove box door (as previously noted). The connector on mine was easy to remove.

Mine had a few pine needles and leaves. The vanes on the fan were covered in caked on dirt/grime. I cleaned them the best I could.

It immediately sounded better and came on quicker once reinstalled. I will monitor. I did not have any electrical connector grease or contact cleaner. I plan to buy both. You can see in between the housing and the fan vanes two copper connectors that looked really dirty. I think that could be causing the issue. I want to clean those, clean the vanes better, and add the grease to the connector. Those copper connectors on the side. This is a borrowed picture from the web. I was not able to separate the vanes from the motor. I had limited time.

I have been unable to separate the vanes from the motor. Vanes are held in place by a pin/axle from the motor that clicks into the vanes "hub". Theoretically you could push aside a plastic pin in the hub center ring to allow the axle to slip out, but I could for the life of me not get it to budge.

YMMV.

If this were to become an issue, I would jsut replace the whole setup. Not cheap, but saves time and you're sure to get it working perfectly afterwards. The whole unit is one part, I checked when I looked at mine.

This topic has been discussed in other threads (I think among others the FAQ thread that I started about retrofitting the cabin air filters to LX/100 that does not have them by swapping out the cover), someone there managed to get the vanes off and clean it all up.

I hadn't remembered this yesterday but now do recall that I had tried to take apart the assembly as well and couldn't get the vanes separated. I tried everything I could think of to take it apart and it didn't want to budge so I replaced it.

Same here. I was going to spray some contact cleaner on the copper pieces without removing the vanes. It is so much quieter. Also, I can hear the relay really kicking in now. I will see how long this lasts before I drop 150 on a new one.
