Gone to the insurance boneyard....
Guys, about 2 weeks ago, I was trying to buy a cruiser. I bought one 10 days ago. This saturday, I was hit in it. Insurance has called it a total cosmetic loss. Here is the story:
Hit by 1997 Jetta, driver's front qtr panel, behind the wheel. Tore flare, crunched fender, and wheel well lining. Drive door is fine, going back on the truck is fine. Pushed into parked car on the right side, scratched pass fender, and ripped flare. Pass door back is fine. Hood, lights, grill, and bumper are fine. The truck does not drive straight. The hit has damaged some steering/suspension component(s). Nothing I can see, but what do I know? Appraiser notes, there is some visible damage on the A pillar, but does not go into detail.
The good: 1997 LX, no previous wrecks, clean carfax - I have it. Truck is in good shape. Interior is clean, driver's seat has a big rip, other seats are clean and in good shape. Carpet is good, and all electrics work, except antenna. Color is dark green, nice color for the LX. 148600 miles.
The bad: It was just wrecked. Slight oil seepage, could be oil pump, oil pan, for front seal. I did not have time to find out. No lockers.
Asking $2,900. This is to cover what Ins wants from me. I am not looking to profit, just pass the truck to a good home. this number might go down, if I can work with ins, will not go up.
the catch is you have to let me know by Tuesday night. If I can buy more time, I will do so. I will send any photos, or videos you want, just let me know.
