How much should i expect to pay someone to weld the crack in my intake manifold??

It shouldn't cost too much but I dunno exactly. If you cleaned it up well before you dropped it off to be welded it would probably save you a few dollars also.

If you want a used one shoot me a PM.

ill sell you a used one as well if you desire

x2 on 40 bux or under and the pre clean

gonna get one from eventhough. Thanks guys.

PM "iron_giant" and tell him you need a 2F manifold gasket.

Then call Rick Arflin at Ralph Hayes Toyota, tell him you are a UC member (to get 25% off) and tell him you need the gasket that goes between the intake and exhaust manifold.

Do you have your exhaust manifold off yet? We will need to take a look at it too, particularly the heat riser and horn rings if it is a 3 piece which I assume it is.

no haven't done anything yet. Can probably do it this weekend though. I will get everything apart 1st so we can make a good shopping list.

ok the intake is off. See the crack!!

I would take the exhaust (header) off while you are in there, replace the gasket with a Remflex and make sure the intake manifold and header are flat so they will compress the new gasket evenly when you reinstall.

i need to have the exhaust pipe welded at the flange anyway so might as well do it all while i am in there.

well looks like i am gonna need to buy a cut off tool. I tried to take the bolts out of the exhaust and got one that is like five times longer than the other two. It will not come out. Harbor freight here i come.

well it is officially apart11 I now know why i kept smelling the exhaust so strong. Hopefully i can just have it rewelded.

took my headers to a muffler shop today. They said if they could weld it together it wouldnt be but about $10 or so!! So hoping it works out. New headers would put me back a while.

Just make sure when you get them back you put a straight edge on the and make sure they are not warped badly. There is only so much a remflex can do.

Also tighten down the headers evenly. A little at a time. My first set I made the mistake of tightening the tops first snug then the bottoms. The leaked from there on out.

was able to have them welded back to together for $10. Sweet!! Now to check them with a straight edge.

picked up another intake from eventhough. Gotta check it with a straight edge. Getting there slowly but surely.
