i ordered remflex gaskets today. I checked the manifold and headers once already and to me they do not look warped. Gonna try to use a t square and check them one last time before i put the headers back on though.

ok i got the header gasket on today. Also tore a piece of it on the very edge past the last bolt behind the ps pump:crybaby:. Praying it does not leak and that i have not over torqued the dang thing. Her is my current problem. Where to these 4 large gaskets suppose to go? It does not fit where the carb and block off plate thingy go. Is it for a 62 and i not need them??

ok here is my current problem. I am trying to figure out my linkage. It seems as though the carb is not sitting high enough for the linkage to align correctly. I have 2 spacers but only one aligns up with the carb. So is the second probably some type of adapter for the weber i use to run? And do i simply need to get a second spacer or what?:bang:

I can see your gonna make me give you some parts.

You need a carb spacer for one. I have one I'll give you.

Your missing #2

#55 and #67

Which I don't have or cannot find.

And holy hell. That carb spacer you have there. What the heck is that? That won't work.

i am gonna try to take everything back apart tommorow and put up a pic of what i have then u can let me know what to order from sor. thx

ok this is what i have. The rig did not have the original carb when i bought it so the p.o. must have changed everything in order to run the weber.:whoops:

the carb plate on the left definitely does not fit. The one on the right does.

trollhole, i assume that the second pic u posted is from sor. If so what page of their catalog is it on. I can't find it for #$%^. Can't order or search for parts without a name or part #.

ok i got the parts from sor yesterday. Looks like the carb spacer came with the insulator. Now to see if i can get this jig saw puzzle back together. And of course this is the 1st saturday i have had to work since taking this new position at work.

ok got home early tonight. Got everything together and tried to fire it up and so far no luck. Tries several times but no luck. Gonna trie again in the morning. Several times i have seen fire come back up the top of the carb.

i can't remember how long i drove the dent after replacing the main belt that broke on me that day to see josh. Wonder if timing is way off?? Fuel pump could be going bad i guess as well. I dunno.

timing could be an issues but i don't know that losing a belt would cause her to jump time.

but your right, usually if your getting fire back out the carb you've got timing/valve issues.

gonna play with it some more this morning and see but probably gonna have to call in reinforcements on this one.

i guess i need to put the 40 project in high gear so i can drive out to you!

i want to head up to the mtns to do some wheeling anyway!

i think my dist. just dies or something. Sprayed some carb cleaner under the cap and now nothin.

ok i am gonna look at/ fool with my distributor tonight. Any do's/don'ts i should be aware of?
