sor's kevlar gasket didn't work for me...

although the gasket is supplied with the 2 piece header, it wasn't port matched.

trimming is needed for a proper fit.....

I threw mine in the trash and got a nice metal one from tpi4x4.com

http://www.tpi4x4.com/05-lcHeaders.html

It lines up PERFECTLY, and is THICK too...... .$23.80

waiting on carb rebuild to try it out

Nice brake master.

Fitting the Felpro on the F is not a problem...well at least for 3+ years for me now on my 73 F. Yes, when the sandwich is put up to the head there is the potential for movement and misalignment. To assure correct alignment when installing, put the gasket in place, then install the exhaust manifold with the front most and rear most bolts first taking care to make sure it doesn't slide down etc...once these two bolts are snugged up the sandwich won't move from the proper location and you can install the intake and the rest of the bolts torqing to spec. Retorq after each run for a week...then you should be set. Big bubbles ...no troubles.

Sorry about the hand also...a few  will ease the sting.

leaks and headers

Sometimes the flange thickness will be a problem.
The header flange tends to be thinner than the intake
flange.
If that is the case (I see where you found a warped header)
you will need to make some "c" shaped washers to get
the two flanges even. BTDT If it takes more than one
"c" washer you can JB weld the washers together prior
to installation to make it easier.
Double gaskets as previously stated. I used a kevlar and an o.e.m.
together. No leaks for over a decade now. :)
