I just put one of these harnesses in a few weeks ago, but did not notice a fuse, did I miss something? It just had a circular connector to attach to the battery terminal, and that wire ran into the mass of relay wiring.

That black wire IS the fuseable link.

oh, I see. I was thinking I was missing a fuse, and that it did not matter since I planned to put the power wire off of an aux fuse block anyway.

Just a quick update. I FINALLY replaced Slees's old yellow harness with the new black harness. The whole process took awhile only because I was doing several projects at one time. But just the harness part was easily under 10 mins to swap out.

Finally got mine installed this weekend (New black harness) but the DS low beam is non-functional. PS works, so I know it's probably the connector. Didn't have a voltmeter handy to test.

Hopefully a simple fix, have an email in to Slee now.

(These instructions were spot on, though - thanks!)

Thanks!

I would take a look at the connectors and make sure the spades are installed all the way. It's likely there is no connection.

Digging up the past here, but I just used your guide to install mine after it sitting in my tool box for over a year. Went swimmingly, and honestly, it wouldn't have if you hadn't posted this up, because I would have tried too many short cuts. :steer:

Thanks, and I'll put up a couple pictures later, just to support the new harness stuff. And because I'm a Japanese tourist. (Humor only, no racism intended or implied) o_O

Agreed! Installed this last weekend. And accept for the fact that I thought I knew better and tried to not follow your very specific instructions...once I pulled my head out...knocked it out in no time.

Thanks again for a solid write up!

Phil

PS, I too should have taken before and after photos...

So I promised pictures. I changed a couple of things over how I've seen others do it, I'm kind of an electrical nazi, So I used some larger split loom, and ran both the stock harness, and the slee harness through that. Im pretty happy with the outcome.

Split Loom size comparison (stock is obviously on the right)

I also loosely zip tied the two harnesses together.

Ultimately I ended up with a sano little wire run...

I zip tied the stock passenger headlamp connectors behind the coolant overflow tank, (photo here -- when I take it)

and I zip tied the whole loom to the radiator core support, rather than using the stock tab holders for easier removal in the future. (photo here -- when I take it)

Oh, and I found this on my alternator wiring. :bang:

Will the Slee harness work correctly with the factory DRL system? I believe the factory DRL's turn on the high beams at partial power.

Allright! Since someone else has resurrected this old thread, I would like to throw in a question. I am having the famous no low beams with my Slee harness, and I believe the relay(s) is /are bad. Can anyone recommend the best relays to use to replace the ones in this harness? Advice appreciated.

Upgrade it to stock?

That helps. Thanks

Thanks for the write up. I just installed mine. The screws/bolts for the relays are now included w the kit.
