Too far north. Too far east.
I need help. See the attached picture. I have this round can in my garage ceiling. I use it for a florescent fixture. I want to install a standard duplex receptacle, but the outlet won't fit in this can. Originally this can had a bare bulb fixture that I swapped out years ago.

Is there a way to adapt this round can to a standard one gang outlet? I want to move the florescent fixture over a few feet and use a three-prong cord to light it.

Thanks.

What about installing something like this?

You'd get to keep a lightbulb, but also get an outlet plug.

I had a bare bulb socket originally. Over that I installed a florescent fixture. The plan was to move the florescent (now LED) fixture over, and install a second fixture. That is why I needed the two outlets. I went back to Lowes and bought an extension. It doesn't look quite as bubba.
