I'm doing it right now :)

Hope I snipped the right one... take you wiring out and look at it. Probably the same. I wouldn't see much sense in a redesign.

2000UZJ i will probably do it this weekend.....hope it worked out for you....

worked like a charm.

found it easy to pull down the large cover over the column and such. Pull the top clamshell off. Since you have to take off a huge metal brace/plate for the lower one to come off, i just wiggled it down as much as possible and was able to slide the connector out fine. the wire is literally....JUST long enought to reach. I used some electrical tape to hold it in position while I tightened the gold screw over top to secure it.

took around 5 minutes once I got my tools and junk out.

Probably would have been quicker if you would have left your junk alone and just used your tools. But hey I know some people really get off on mods.....

i still have my usless wire under .
i wired mine so i can turn em off with the bright/dim switch
got sick of fumbling for the button and blinding everyone.
but i think ill put something in the discarded wire.
i forgot all about it
thanks for the idea.:D

2000UZJ, hope you are kidding. You can take the top and bottom clamshells off with only having to pop off the black trim. A screwdriver and three philips heads and they come off. I also grounded it to a bolt in there so fumbling with the wire, screw and trying to get the covers back on would not have made an issue.

1) I said I found it easier.
2) my connector would not budge. I had to get my hand directly under it.
3) that's the way I did it.
4) no, I wasn't kidding. I don't practice with the s***. I did it once, and the way I went about it seemed if you removed the metal brace, you could get you hand in there easier.
