my '73 came with a Greatful dead "dancing bears" sticker, is that pretty much stock for that year model?

LoL. I think that was 76 not a 78 and it was on the air intake. :)

Here are two I also need help with the location on. Anyone?

So now I have a "US-market 31oF/-35oC decal" on my RH glass and an original "Australian-market -12oC/10oF decal" on my LH glass. (I'm just assuming the Cruiser.net sticker is based on a US-market original)

with the recent snowfall in NZ in mind, I don't think the new antifreeze decal is out of place... might just get rid of the old one... like; "when your uncle Tom was young, we had no snow in NZ and also used different grade anti freeze in our cars...." ;)

If the "ABV" on the 2nd sticker stands for "Air Bypass Valve," then that's where it goes. I doubt the "400kg" sticker was OE in the US. The locking hub sticker was a port or dealer add-on (at least with Warn hubs), and the location varies. Lastly, if you are doing a Full Restoration don't you naturally want the carb cooling fan?

true, the load capacity decal is Japanese Market only.
will put a 500 kg version on my JDM BJ44 shortly..., the 400 kg version was for the shortwheel based trucks (BJ40, BJ41, BJ42)

Thanks. Makes sense on the warn hub sticker. Yes and carb fan, but I have a webber and headers and don't have issues wig vapor lock and some folks are like- "why would you". I won't go back full smog lines etc, but back to factory air cleaner, intake, etc. Thanks for the support on the carb cooler. What years will fit my 1978? Buddy has one in his shop attic and I'm going to check it out this weekend.

Not sure exactly, check SOR. I would imagine anything from '78 through '87 would be pretty close though.

I'm also not sure factory air cleaners play well with Weber carbs. And not to be nitpicky because you have a much nicer FJ40 than mine, but if you aren't using the stock carb, exhaust, and emissions equipment, then you don't have a "Full Restoration." "Full Body Restoration," maybe. :)

I said I'd post a pic of the hood sticker, here it is.

This is where I think the warn sticker goes for '78s. I believe on non defrost models it goes next to the light switch. Someone tell me if I am wrong.

This is where mine is, below the light switch, altough I now have AVM hubs.

Makes sense that since it was a dealer installed option on the Warn hub warning that it might be in a fee areas. With defrosters this is where mine was. I removed the old one and put on the new. See pic.

Found another factory-original decal the other day on my coolant reservoir bottle:

Thanks BTUMAN.

Pretty regularly now, things happen to me that convince me that I've gone senile (& really have lost my marbles ) . So I''ll share the latest of these experiences with y'all now (for a laugh at my expense).

Upon reading your post, I ventured outside to place my new CruiserNET antifreeze decal on my glass. ....... Now my once-reliable memory was telling me that I used to have one on my right hand side driver's quarterlight window. So from your post I figured: "passenger's side for a LHD vehicle"......."driver's side for a RHD vehicle" ..... "So Toyota always placed the sticker on the RH side, at the bottom, and as far forward as possible."

So away I went and VERY carefully transferred my new decal to my driver's quarterlight window.

Then I leaned back to admire my handiwork .....

Looks nice eh? And I didn't even put it on the wrong side of the glass!

But then, to my horror .... I glanced at my PASSENGER'S quarterlight window .... And looky here at what I discovered there:

Yep! I never lost the original decal during my door refurbishment after all. The correct original one was/is still damned-well there!

So now I have a "US-market 31oF/-35oC decal" on my RH glass and an original "Australian-market -12oC/10oF decal" on my LH glass. (I'm just assuming the Cruiser.net sticker is based on a US-market original)

Ah well. Adds to the character of my "special cruiser" now I suppose. (I can tell this story to who-ever happens to notice that there are two decals and/or the discrepency between them.)

As least I think we can conclude from this that Toyota always placed the antifreeze decal on the PASSENGER side glass (regardless of whether the vehicle is LHD or RHD).

And it suggests this Cruiser.net decal is a pretty good copy too.
